Imperial Palace

I've read pro's & con's about this hotel. Some reviews tell of renovations where others say how bad it is. Does anyone know what section or floor(s) have been renovated? What part is worse than others. We are non-smokers and can honestly say a smokey room is our biggest worry. Do they have non-smoking rooms? Also, do they have in-room safes?

Dear Kamploops,

I have been staying at the IP for over 15 years. Yes they have non smoking rooms. When you either book or check in ask for a strip view room, they are the ones that are renovated. IP is a small casino but lots of fun. I can't wait until April when I return. I go twice a year to Vegas and always stay at the IP.

You are going to get a lot of negative feedback on here about the IP but if you want a 5 Star than don't stay at the IP. If you are looking for somewhere you can lay your head for a few hours a night and have a shower than I recommend the IP.

I get really tired of all the negative reviews people have to say about the IP. I have sent many people to stay there and no one has complained at all.

It all depends on your expectations.

Best location mid strip and for the price you can't go wrong. Like I said earlier I love this place and it scares me to think that soon it will be gone. Thats when my Vegas days are over. I will have to go to the casino's here in Canada.

Take care fellow Canadian!

Hey Tigger,

We should copy all your posts about IP to the hotel and see if they'll comp you some more rooms!!!!

Kamloops - If you look at the hotel web site, the virtual tour of Deluxe rooms look quite nice. We've had friends stay there, and we looked at their room. It seemed nice enough. We were going to stay there in April, but changed when we found a deal at Aladdin.

Thank you for your responses. This is our 4th visit. Our 1st was with Circus Circus and found it more for people with kids and it was out of the way. We've stayed at Aladdin and Bally's and found both are very clean although we ended up in one of Bally's older rooms and the furniture was pretty worn. So with that said, if IP rooms aren't any worse than Bally's 'un' renovated rooms, we certainly can't complain for the package we got. Looking forward to the first week of April.

I just got back from Las Vegas. I stayed at the Barbary Coast and had a great time. I highly recommend the BC if you want a great room at a great price, but if you want a pool, spa and the glitz of a mega hotel like Caesar's Palace or Belagio, the Barbary Coast isn't for you.

I met an older couple on the Deuce who was staying at the Imperial Palace. The husband couldn't stop raving about it. Great room, great service, great price, great restaurant, great location. He said he'd stay there again and again. After reading so many negative reviews, I began to have second thoughts. But what really turned me off is that the place is in desperate need of an external overhaul. The paint is peeling off the "Imperial Palace" lettering for heaven's sakes!!

kamlopps - we, like rigger, also always stay at the IP for one reason because since our first stay there we have had comped rooms but even if we didn't we'd stay there because it fits into our budget and expectations. I do not need fancy and don't want to spend my vacation money on that. I would not however stay there - even for free - IF it was dirty or if their customer service was not up to par. We love it there and it is easy to get anywhere from there. So give it a try and hope you have a good time. We will be back there on March 6th and counting the days!!!
