Honeymoon Hotel

With so many great hotels in Vegas, how do you choose? It's going to be our honeymoon and most likely a once in a lifetime trip so we want to stay at a really good one but are struggling to pick. We were thinking maybe the Venetian or Bellagio (I know they're pricey but like I said, once in a lifetime trip!), can anyone make a recommendation either way. Our criteria are central on strip location, and nice rooms (especially bathrooms, are there any with Jacuzzi baths??)

Also has anyone ever had the fortunate experience of a free upgrade upon the mention that you were celebrating? I've seen it happen on TV just wandered if there was any chance of it in real life?!

One last thing, we're heading out early December, what’s the weather going to be like? Are any of the pools at the resort type hotels likely to be in use?

Any info gratefully received.

Cheers. x

Bellagio is a much better location than Venetian. Bellagio is centrally located on the Strip. I would choose Bellagio over the Venentian based on location, level of service, accessability of other properties and I like the casino better there. I believe both properties have rooms with Jacuzzi tubs, but I could be wrong.

I have never asked for a free upgrade, but you should try. All they can say is no.

December is definitely not pool weather. Most properties do keep one pool (heated) open year round, but you certainly wouldn't want to be using it in December!

The standard room at Bellagio dosn't not have a jacuzzi tub but the view from a Lakeview room is amazing. The rooms at Bellagio are nicely decorated and fairly roomy (510 square feet) and the bathrooms are quite nice as well. I'm not a fan of Venetian but if you were going to stay there the Venezia tower is the only way to go (but those rooms can get pretty pricey) the rooms in the Venetian Tower need to be renovated. The Augustus Tower at Caesars might be a good option as you get the great location, Spa Tubs are in all the Augustus Tower rooms, and some of the best views of the Bellagio Fountains come from the Augustus Tower. If service is more important than location then Wynn Tower Suites or MGM Signature could be good options (MGM Signature might be too far removed for you but there are Jacuzzi tubs in all of their rooms.) There are Jacuzzi tubs in all of Wynn's suites but it is a little far north.

did you consider The Wynn?

i've only heard good things about it. my friend who is a TA called it "the sexiest hotel" he's ever seen in his life.

"did you consider The Wynn?"

That was going to be my suggestion. The basic room, Resort Room has a jacuzzi tub and seperate shower. They also have the most amazing beds I have ever slept on. Huge room with wall to ceiling windows make for nice views.

Cab rides from there to the South Strip are $10 to $15 with tip. So that should not casue that much of a problem.

Like Vancouver said, this would be my suggestion as well.

Me and my wife to be are also planing a honeymoon in Vegas (first time in Vegas for us), at first we planed to go in mid-late September, but due to our schedules we had to postpone to late December (week before Christmas) instead.

We will stay at Signature @ MGM (will book later this week), JR Suite, jacuzzi and kitchenette (to keep the strawberries and champange cold). I like the "private" feel after reading about the Signature.

IIRC not all Resort Rooms @ Wynn have jacuzzi, so be carefull about that. Signature looks like a secluded getaway from the casion craze, we will spend some time gambling (mrs to be love the slots), but also visiting Hoover Dam, maybe hike or two in Zion and/or Red Rock.

Just my 0.02$

If you can wait til after December 8th, rates will be way down for three weeks. Convention season takes a hiatus around that time each December. You will be able to afford a lot more that way!

If it were me, i'd book a small suite at Bellagio..........can't beat the location on the strip. You can walk most anywhere from there, no need for a cab or getting a car out of the car park or from Valet. Besides location, it's a beautiful facility. If not a suite, then book a lakeview room, the views from them are phenomenal!!

Wynn is beautiful, but it's location isn't the best and it's quite a hike up the drive to the front door there.

You might also consider the Augustus Tower at Caesar's.

The standard room at Venetian is awesome. It's a huge mini-suite that is over the top and perfect for a once-in-lifetime honeymoon. It has a separate sunken living room area, plus a fabulous bathroom with an oversized tub (although it's not a jacuzzi) and a separate shower with multiple shower heads. How can I put it?A Venetian suite lends itself to romantic activitles in a way that a standard room at Bellagio can not match. Besides, Bellagio is stodgy in comparison (as is Wynn for that matter).

Venetian is in a great mid-strip location. In answer to your other question, Vegas is generally slower in December so yes, you could possibly be upgraded to something even better upon request.

One other possible recommendation would be a room in Caesar's new Augustus Tower. I haven't been there yet, but it sounds like they're amazing. And Caesar's is fabulous.

hi there, i had my honeymoon in vegas last june and stayed 2 weeks at the wynn.

when checking in we were upgraded to a panoramic view room on the 53rd floor. we couldnt fault the wynn ,a beautiful hotel.

also we didnt find the location a problem, it was right across from fashion show mall and as you will be going in december the weather will be a bit cooler for walking to central strip ( bellagio, casears etc).

whatever you chose you will have a great time im sure

With regard to location, some folks idea of "centrally located" seems to be very broad. None of the other properties that have been mentioned compare to Bellagio in terms of a location in the center strip.

You should definitely tell the staff at check-in that it's your honeymoon. They are people too and you never know what they may be able to do for you whether it's a room upgrade or free spa passes or whatever.
