Comp rooms

The quiet week before Christmas

I have 2 nights comp with MGM which I simply won't use cos I hate them

I also have 3 comp rooms with Boyd

As I'm travelling from the uk and I'd much prefer to spend whole time in one place

Do you think if I ask Boyd awfully nicely and say just how much I would like to spend my whole stay in their property (8nights) they would give me comp nights to cover the MGM comp offer nights

I know it's a bit cheeky but as they get my custom during the quiet time rather than me trundling off to a casino I'd rather not go to

Stand by for the abuse 54321 go

It's worth a try. Your best bet would be to try and make contact with a host. They can often arrange something over and above the standard corporate offers.

If you have history and can show what you're theoretically likely to gamble, they may be able to sort something out. Maybe not the whole 8 nights, but maybe 5 or 6 perhaps.

You can ask, but I would not be too hopeful that they would give you that before your stay. However, if at the end of your stay you ask to speak to a host they may comp you the rooms and/or meals at that time.

Just curious; you hint about going off to another casino you'd rather not go to. Why would you do that? You clearly played enough at MGM to get comp rooms. But why play in a place you hate? Figure out where you like and be loyal to them. At least the comps you earn will be in a place you enjoy.

I stayed in an MGM about 2 years ago before they went wild with charges for no good reason

I guess they just want some gambling dollars during quiet week

Agree with the wild MGM property charges. They also charge resort fees on comped rooms whereas Boyd properties do not. I concur with contacting a casino host- that is the best chance in obtaining extra comped nights. If not comped nights then perhaps additional nights at a lower cost...

I don't think so. They will tell you to enjoy the first three nights free and then they will evaluate your play for nights 4-8 for comps on the "back end" from a host prior to check-out. I like Boyd, but like CET, they can be kind of tight on back-end comps (they're known for their generosity on the front-end). Good luck!

I agree with above posters, If it is that important that you not move hotels, I would just book the extra nights at the player's rate (listed on their web page) and have the play looked at near check out time for any comps. Boyd's has tightened up also in the last few months as far as offers.

It's worth a try.

Sounds like you have done some gambling at MGM properties.

I know it's not the greatest but did you consider Luxor? It's not terrible and if MGM is comping you two nights it's possible Luxor will do better than that. I'm not a big fan of the Boyd properties.
