I kinda want to go to Bonnie Springs Ranch....am I crazy?

We'll be leaving for Vegas tomorrow (Saturday, 3/24). This will be our 8th trip there, so I'm just looking for something "new" to do. I've read the reviews on Bonnie Springs......not great. So, am I crazy? Our 24 year old son lives in Vegas; this will be the 6th trip to Vegas for our 21 year old (yes, I'm one of those parents who took their kids to Vegas before they were 21). We love to gamble, but we need some other activities also.

We've done the Shark Reef, King Tut, Imax, Secret Garden, Fremont Street Experience, Roller coasters, Auto Collection, Mac King, Ron Lucas, Guinness World Record museum, Desert Passage, Forum Shops, Madame Tussaud's, Venetian canal shops, Hoover Dam, Volcano, TI Sirens, Bellagio Fountains, etc. Not that we won't enjoy some of that again (I never get tired of the Fountains). But, I'm looking for something different.

Anyone been to Bonnie Springs lately? There aren't any recent reviews. Thought about driving out to Red Rock park ~ isn't Bonnie Springs on the way? Don't really want to go as far as Valley of Fire. What do you guys think?

We were there a few years back. It is on the way to Red Rock, or in the same general direction.

Wouldn't say it was exciting but it was a few hours of "something else" other than the casinos. Guys dressed as cowboys with guns walking around. I hope they were part of the show which we didn't stay to see. There's a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that served basic food and a small bar with dollar-bills in the ceiling. A little pond full of ducks and a few swan. Saw one swan kick the butt of a duck trying to horn-in on another duck. Actually, that was exciting!

Saw a few wild burros on side of road. Stopped to chat with them. Not very conversational, or we didn't know the language, but they were tame. If you go, bring food to feed them (unless this is a no-no?).

How'bout the Titanic Exhibit at Tropicana? I didn't see that in your list.

I'm hoping to see that in about 11 days!

Thanks, vegas ~ so, is it a restaurant at the little zoo? I know there's a restaurant somewhere out there, but haven't heard much good about it. Hope you're right about the weather this weekend! We're ranchers, so riding horses is something we do all the time here at home for work ~ don't want to do that on vacation! LOL!

i am no vegas expert (mainly on this board to get ideas ;) )... but i believe they also have one of those bodies exhibits going on now at one of the hotels. if you don't live in an area that also has one... the one in chicago is fabulous. very worthwile to check out.

For high camp- try the Liberace Museum. There is also the pinball museum, Atomic testing museum, the Guggenheim (not sure what is showing),Ethel M Cactus Garden and the little laser show at Sam'sTown. You can take a paddleboat ride at Lake Mead. The Gun Store on Tropicana. Indoor skydiving.

I was never impressed with Bonnie Springs Ranch but if you are going to RRC I guess you can stop in for lunch.
