TA hotel reviews ...

Hey guys....of course I have been on this site for few weeks now...but do you think it's fair to the hotel if someone posts a bad review but their trip took place months ago?? I check alot of them..just for fun LV reading....

I am staying at Flamingo and am getting worried about a gross bathroom......do you think some peope exaggerate...you know the type...I mean...would a hotel rent out a room that was just nasty...or wouldnt they get it cleaned up if not renovated........

btw...no bs from mr negative please.....you know who you are..

Thanks..

a review that is months old is current enough to be timely and would not seem unfair just from a time standpoint. I don't think the point of ther reviews is to be fair or not - it just an opinion of someone who might or imght not have stayed at the hotel.

As afr as the accuracy, that is always suspect on a forum such as this. There is no way to verify the info, it is just an opinion. do some people exaggerate? Maybe, probably. hotels do not intentionally book nasty rooms - does it happen that housekeeping hasn't done its job - of course. Will the hotel handle that situation if and when it occurs? of course

I think it is fair. As you stated it does mention they stayed a couple of month ago letting you judge if things might have changed.

These hotels are so large that not all stays will be great for everyone. It also depends on what someone expects from a hotel before they even arrive. But, if the majority of reviews are bad I probably will stay away.

I find the reviews useful, but always judge from many reviews not just one bad review. I find them pretty fair.

I have only stayed at MGM and I find the reviews pretty accurate. For example, some people think the MGM is too big, too much walking involved. I read these type of reviews after I booked my stay at MGM. I was kind of nervous, but, I loved the MGM because it is so big and there is so much to do within the hotel and the service is great.

I bet you enjoy the Flamingo. I love gambling there

And after reading enough posts on this forum you can usually get an idea about who's never satisfied with anything, and who you can trust. But it's all subjective- though more than a couple negatives and you might think twice about a place...

Does everyone know about the dinner buffet at the Nevada Palace?????

I have friends who have stayed there twice and they say it is fine. It doesn't have the wow factor of some of the other hotels but if you want a decent place to sleep and a nice pool you should have no problem.

It just depends on what you want out of a hotel.

You can only get a general feeling about a hotel by reading all the reviews. I have been to hotels for more than one visit. Sometimes the housekeeping has been great and on the next trip it wasn't as good as the first time. I have seen some superfriendly people at the check-in desk and some real meanies- at the same hotel.

vp03 is right, sometimes its pure luck on whether you get nice or not so nice people waiting on you. That could happen at any property.

The reviews are subjective, different people have different expectations of hotels. Some expect 5 star amenities at a 3 star property and some expect so much they aren't going to be totally pleased anywhere. Sometimes all it takes for a bad review is for one little thing to go wrong!

The Flamingo is not a Bellagio or a Wynn, but then neither are the prices there. It's a good casino, wonderful pool area in one of the very best locations on the strip. It's clean. Some rooms have had redo's some not, but it is clean. If you find your room isn't clean, then just call housekeeping and have them come up. They'll sort it out for you. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there at all.

Some people do exaggerate. I would only consider changing my reservation if you see the same complaints come up more than once or if there was a pattern of poor customer service when there is a problem. If it was one complaint against 100 positve remarks, it wouldn't faze me.

ok then....I am worrying for nothing. I will probably think it is a 4 or 5 star....wouldnt know the difference. I just dont want to be that one person who comes home and writes my 1st TR about my 1st visit to LV and how staying at Flamingo set a bad tone for the trip....oh and btw......I love meanies....I kill them with a " ARE YOU MAD AT ME?????" , and then they are callin me "darlin" before they know it...sometimes yu have to let them know what they are projecting.
