Harrah’s valley tower or mirage?

Harrah’s valley tower or mirage?

My husband and I go to Vegas every year in February ( so pool doesn’t matter at all) we like to eat, drink and play slot machines and love the center of the strip. We try to stay somewhere different every year. (We have stayed at Caesars, Paris, and flamingo never a mgm resort). We get comps through TR so Harrah’s would be comped or nearly comped. I know we would only stay in valley tower. Should we go with that and save money to gamble and check things out or is the extra money worth booking a room at Mirage? Just looking for some friendly opinions as we have decided it will. Be one of these hotels next.

What type of room at Mirage? What's the price difference? Are you looking to stay with CET properties in the future and will you primarily gamble with them or are you looking to branch out more and play at MGM casinos?

We play slots at both mgm and CE properties. That side of mid strip just happens to be a lot of CE properties (flamingo, Harrah’s, Paris, planet Hollywood etc). We are low rollers haha just like to play about 500 a night in slots. If we were to stay at the mirage we would be in a volcano view room. It would be about 70 more each night (3 nights). So I wasn’t sure if it was worth it. We can book that or stay in valley tower at Harrah’s and visit mirage. We have never been to the mirage to even play so I have no idea what to expect and if it’s worth that extra 70 each night

Mirage is a solid three star. Harrahs is a step down.

The common areas at Mirage are really quite good. The Atrium provides some natural light and the waterfall area out the front is a really nice place to have a morning coffee.

We like the casino. It’s a bit smaller than some with a good layout.

I would go with Harrah's Valley Tower. Newer, nicer room with a much better bathroom.

Mirage isn't a low roller joint, and is still within MGM's luxury echelon. It is only let down by its comparatively small regular bathrooms.

The new Harrah's rooms are nice, and the gambling for low rollers is MUCH better at Harrah's then Mirage. The one time I stayed at Mirage I found the rooms were nice enough, but as a fellow low roller I ended up doing all my gambling across the street at Harrah's.

Great! Thank you so much everybody this has helped a lot. I’m hoping TR will give me a deal on A valley tower room. My visible comps are in the old towers... no thanks. I will call. I’m sure it isn’t a crazy amount of money. Thank you all again.

I love the Mirage. It's where I always stay. However, it sounds like you are used to the CE properties and will be comfortable there. I stay at the Flamingo sometimes as well. The Mirage casino is definitely nicer than Harrah's or the Flamingo. It may have higher table limits on occasion. The casino is just a little more upscale. However, I don't think I'd pay $70/night more if I were you.

Go visit the Mirage and gamble there a bit. I like the overall property so much more (partly the vibe in the casino) that it's worth a bit more to me. However, I've been staying there a while and get pretty decent comps now.

If it were pool season and you were interested, I'd say change things up with a stay at Mirage.

But, it's not..have fun at Harrahs!

Of the mgm properties. I hear they are really mice and I would love to stay it’s just hard for me to pass up comped rooms.
