Saturday 4/21 - We flew in from Austin via Delta Airlines. Nothing dramatic on the flight however changing planes in Salt Lake was nice. We were able to see the great snow peaks. Arrived at 9:00am, shuttle to Golden Gate for two $16 plus tax. It only took about 30 minutes. Had breakfast at Bay City Diner, Italian Meat Omlette (ok), country fried steak and eggs (better) and strawberries and cream french toast (excellent). Checked into room 402, two windows facing the Plaza, queen size bed, room is small but what do you expect for 60 bucks on Sat. night. No noise from the FSE. Only a couple of cop sirens in the morning. Probably wouldn't stay there again but would defenitely play in their casino. Very friendly staff. Played in the 2:00pm binions poker tournement. Placed 45 out of 147 (no cash). Dinner at the Center Stage, Good food, great view worth a visit. Not exceptional but good value. Both had the Prime Rib. Off to take a nap and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ you guessed it, slept from 8:00pm to 4:00am. Bummer, but was well rested!!!!!!!!!!! On to Sunday
Sunday 4/22 - At 7am, took cab from DT to Circus Circus $9 plus tip. Checked bags and walked to Wynn. Signed up for the RED card and received $10 free play each. Used that and an extra $30 to get 100 pts. on the card for two free buffets. Didn't use them today, just walked back to CC for check in at 11am. Checked in asked for upgrade was only offered the jacuzzi room for $20 extra a night. We took it and got room 27816 in the West Towers. Nice room, bigger than one might expect, had wet bar and mini fridge. Room felt a bit warm so we turned the AC up and went out for the 11:30am brunch at the CC steakhouse. $32 each and well worth it. Great service good food and nice options. Steak was very good but didn't think it was great. The char flavor was a little over bearing but still good value. After lunch DW played BJ and Slots while I hunkered down to the 3-6 limit hold'em game. Cashed out up 40 after 6 hours. Went back to room, had to have filter changed on AC still warm... Went to slots of fun for 50 cent roulette and $3 BJ. Down 20 after 45 minutes. Caught cab to Bellagio for water show, canceled due to high winds. BOOOOO, still haven't seen it up close. Conservatory was excellent as usual with some great scenes of the garden. Walked thru the butterfly exhibit, nice!!! Went back to room and still warm. Called to complain and was told we could have a room with 2 queens, DW asked to speak to manager and was proptly given room 1406 in the main tower. When we walked in the bell boy says, "Wow, I've only been in this room once." It was the two story suite with double shower, three person jetted tub, two living areas, a dining area/office, twenty foot windows. Nice score for the complaint. Who even knew they had these rooms. Off to sleep in great upgradeZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. On to Monday....
Monday 4/23 - I felt like today was going to be the day. You know what it feels like.. You just know something good is going to happen. Let DW sleep in and went down to play slots, up and down, no major scores. Walk to poker room and find out there is a tourney in 30 minutes. Cool, signed up and 2 hours later place 1st and cash in for $275...Took some of that and put it in a Blazing 7 dollar machine and hit 200 on first pull. Called DW, got cab to Wynn and had their buffet for lunch (comped from Red card). Good food, excellent flank steak and pastas. DW loved the hand made sorbets with fresh fruits. Bread pudding was excellent. That must be Steve's mom's recipe 'cause it was delish. Cashed 150 from slots at Wynn, and walked the strip. Went to Venitien and lost 100 of the money playing Green chips at BJ. Not a good idea. Walked to Bill's and played, Flamingo, and Harrah's. Went to carnival court for drinks and stayed to watch the Championship Round of the Flare Bartenders. This was the actual competition not the bartenders working so it was cool. Great atmosphere. Wife had a mexican martini and a YARD of Blue Hawiian. I had shots of Patron and miller lights. $130 plus tip. Don't ask how many, it was one of those nights. DW says I was Drunk Dialing everyone on my cell from the bar. Not a good idea when the people you call are in a different time zone. Cabbed it back to CC, tried to play 3-6 hold'em drunk and lost 50 real quick. Walked to the Peppermill and had a late night breakfast, DW says it was good, I don't remember....Didn't have the guts to order the Scorpian, was to hammered. Back to CC and that wonderful suite ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ on to Tuesday departure day.
Tuesday 4/24 - Got up at 10am and drank about a gallon of water. Showered and dressed for check out. No problems with that went back and played the same blazing 7's and hit for another 300, also played some 25 cent slot and cashed 100. Now we know we are taking some money home, had lunch at CC buffet, not bad, not great, average but worth 17 bucks for two. Flight back to Austin ok except for the last 30 minutes. Storm hit and we were the last plane in. Airport was closed due to storm.
I can't wait to go back. Thanks to all for the info I used to have the best time ever. Only regret is that I missed BIG Elvis!!! Feel free to ask any questions, I will try my best to respond.
