Stay on, or off the strip?? Please help!!!!

Hi,

I need some help on my plans in Vegas. I am unsure as to wether to stay on the strip in a hotel or off the strip in a vacation condo or house?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

If this is your first time to Vegas, stay on the strip in a hotel (not condo or rental house), you want to get the full Vegas experience.

For my first trip, I would stay on the strip or one of the hotels that has a shuttle to the strip. Unless you are going to be there for an extended stay (in my opinion) I wouldn't stay anywhere other than a hotel.

I agree with the other posters....if this will be your first trip, it would be better to stay on the strip! You can take the shuttles to explore other off strip areas (depending on how long your trip is), but the strip itself should be enough to keep you entertained! Have a good trip!

If you do not have a car........Definitely ON the strip. Nothing is as close as it appears to be - nothing!

If you have a car then it might not be such an issue as you can park for free at all the hotels -- you could walk up and down and move your car and explore another area of the strip.

Stay on the Strip, but make sure its a decent hotel.

Start with Monte Carlo, Mirage or Bellagio if thats within your budget.

DO NOT stay at MGM unless you have GPS programmed into your brain.

Definitely on the strip if you haven'been to Vegas.

So much to do there and so much easier to do it all if you are staying on stth strip.

Don't listen to that remark about MGM. It is very large and many find it hard to navigate around it, but there are a good many people that love the place and its a very nice facility.

i loved MGM and found it very easy to navigate. some people will get lost in their own backyards. it doesn't mean you will.

the strip is in the front. registration, the elevators, and valet parking are all close to each other in the back. the casino is in between. there is a set of escalators from registration that go to the shops, the parking garage, and the pool. what could be more simple than that? want the elevators? go to the back. want the strip? go to the front.

finding the elevators in other hotels was much more difficult (turn left at the first bar, right at the second bar, go past the first two elevator banks, go down the hallway past the sports book, walk though the shops, go past two more elevator banks, turn right at the 3rd wheel of fortune game, and the elevators are on the left.)

Definitely ON the strip, especially if it's your first time in Vegas. So much to see on the strip. Enjoy!
