Is smoke at South Point really that bad?

Good evning, (10:30pm local time)

After reading a few reports about South Point where the author complains about smoke (anormal amounts of smoke) in the casino and even in hte hallways on the non-smoking floor, as non smoker, would I better some where else?

Is not htat I can't stand smoke but I prefer moderate amounts.

Never bothered me. I'm a non smoker and if it gets bad, my eyes get irritated.... Was gambling there for a week solid last year, no problems...then 3 days, no problems. Could be it wasn't crowded enough when I was there.

Gosh we were there 2 different days for over 4 hours in the casino (didn't stay there), and I don't remember it being smoky at all...in fact it was less smoky than several places on the strip and downtown.

We were there during the week and not on a weekend so maybe that is another reason I didn't notice the smoke.

I have been there gambling a few times and then stayed there 4 nights last month. I am a non smoker, and thought the casino smelled no worse than any other place there. Our room was a smoking room and i even commented how little it smelled like smoke.

There is no smoking in common areas where there is no gambling, so for someone to say the hall ways on the non smoking floors smelled smoky would be pushing it. Maybe it was already absorbed in the clothing and that is what they were smelling.

If you can stand just general smoke, you should be fine.

I saw that report too. Maybe they like complaining and couldn't find anything else to moan about.

It's a casino so you're going to smell some smoke but the property is not even 2 years old yet. It has very high ceilings. Believe me, there is no comparison to some of the casinos I've been in. You won't be bothered. When I was there in May, I had only quit smoking for 6 months and I don't remember any smoke there bothering me.

I was in there last week, and it wasn,t very smoky, but the line for the Buffet was horrendous,it snaked right round the Buffet and into the side passage, and it was bad at the other eateries.I was thinking of staying there in Oct. but I hate having to get in a cattle line for food,so it,s back to the usual hotel!!.

Did you ask anyone in line if they were locals who recieved coupons? There was one day when the lines were very long, so I asked some people, and the Casino had sent our coupons to all the locals.
