TR 7/24-7/28 Flamingo, Stuidio 54, Olives

Flamingo regular room- loved it. Hotel is clean and nice, fun atmosphere, good casino, wonderful pool.

Slots O Fun $.99 hotdog- OMG is that thing HUGE! Definitely worth the cheapo experience of going there.

Mermaids fried oreos- pretty good, twinkie- wasn't spectacular. Doubt I'd get them again.

Studio 54 on Tuesday- GREAT club! All ages, types- great music, room to dance. Very fun!

Olives at Bellagio, patio seating. Had GIANT scallops and a bellini- great food and drink! Service just okay. Would definitely eat there again.

Lenotre at Paris for dessert. Had some chocolate mousse thing and it was to die for! Friend had a strawberry cake thingy and it was also amazing!

Purple Reign at Monte Carlo- this guy could pull off charging $200 a ticket as Prince, and I bet 99.9% of people wouldn't know the difference! GREAT show at the Brew Pub!

Big Elvis- not what we expected, but a fun show! He has lost 450lbs in the past two years and has 250 to go!

Social House at TI for sushi. Great food, okay service, interesting atmosphere. More of a romatic place to dine.

Tao on Thursday- jam packed, just "okay" DJ, very little dancing. Great looking place, but wouldn't care if I never went back!

Spice Market Buffet at PH was a total disappointment. Food was cold, little variety (Asia section had like 4 types of rice and one meat dish) at each stand, and the food was pretty bland. Won't be going there again.

PURE on Friday- long line (over an hour), even with table reservation. They overbook tables and if you have a smaller party, as I did (made reservations a month in advance), you're out of luck. They give the tables to the bigger parties so they can make more money. VERY ticked about this, as we were looking forward to our table. Even though we reserved a table and didn't get one, and stood in line an hour only to DISCOVER we weren't getting a table, they still tried to charge us cover! Since we "know someone," we got in free. Wouldn't even buy a drink there since we were ticked off. Club was packed, of course, but DJ AM and DJ Hollywood are great. Jaime Pressley's bday at PCD Lounge, and it was invite only. Still got to see her, as well as Chris Tucker. Sat at a patio table with some guys we met and it was nice. Guess we need a table for 10 next time, if we want service. VERY disappointed with the club after this experience. Second time going, and this time I was very put off by them!

Tropicana had the loosest slots for us- won several hundred there.

Did well gambling at Flamingo, but when Friday came, I didn't hit ONCE. No more weekend gambling for me!

I always think it's funny when people get "into" room #'s because it's something I never think about! We had 26153, smoking room. Few quirks, like a SUPER loud toilet flush but everything else was just fine. It was quite a hike from the elevator, too. We had a nice view of the pool. Don't remember which room we had last year, but it was also nice with a view of the pool!

Thanks.

I use the numbers as a reference so I have an idea when they assign me my #.

Thanks again =-)

Good TR-right to the point!!! Glad you posted about the experience at Pure, as my husband always wants to go there for bottle service. As I suspected, they have poor customer service. Sorry it was a disapointment for you! Am interested in checking out both Studio 54 and TAO at some point so appreciate the info.

Husband will be eager to try the Slots O Fun hot dog next trip. Bill's has a hot dog he enjoyed last time.

Thanks-

Great post. Thanks for the info.

I have a table reservation at Pure in a few weeks. I just might let their host know about this posting. About what time did you show up for your reservation? Sometimes that makes a difference.

As for Olives, we had dinner- two scallop dinners and two bellinis- about $125 without tip. No salads or apps or dessert there. Totally worth it. Made reservations and asked for the patio, but they only reserve tables with a window view. Got there 10 minutes early, asked for the patio, and got it. GREAT experience there!

As for PURE (and I'm still ticked about it), we got there just before 9:45. By then the VIP/table line (which is the same) was big, and there really is no rhyme or reason to it- just a bit clusterfu*& of people. What really got me is that after we were told we didn't have a table (but the 12 guys next to us did), we were told to pay the $30 cover!!!! YEAH RIGHT! My host was Shawn off of jackcolton.com and he never did try to speak with me or attempt to contact me later. I would still opt for bottle service SOMEWHERE, but definitely not there. Still can't rave enough about the nice atmostphere at Studio 54. THAT is a place to go to dance and have a good time. PURE is more to see and be seen, and say you've been. Again, with Tao- wasn't overly impressed. Could've used more dancing and better DJ. Also, their tables are strange and my friend even commented on what I was thinking- if I paid that much for a table, then it was right in the walkway (where many were), I'd be mad. People were standing right up against the tables, lingering in front of them, and bumping into the chairs. This was a whole "hallway" of tables- not a great location for them!

Jenniferla32, question for ya if you can answer. The second show of Purple Reign at the Monte Carlo at midnight, do you know if that's every Wednesday, or just that night. I've checked the schedule and it only says a 10pm show. If anyone else can answer that would be great.

I thought it was every Wednesday. I never heard otherwise. We were gonna stay for the second show, and I think it was different than the first. I'm fairly certain it's always like that.

Really enjoyed your TR. I can't believe how Pure runs their business. Take your reservation but don't give you a table that is crazy. Glad to hear you won some money at Trop. It sounds like you had a great time otherwise. I like the Flamingo also, they have great room and good location and a great pool and you have Margetiaville to party at during the day.
