MGM or Paris

Planning my first ever trip to Vegas. Will be a short 3 day stay with my husband in Nov. We are trying to stay on budget so we'll have more money to spend while there. I can book MGM or Paris for the same amt of money. Which one do you guys recommend??

Paris sounds a better option for you guys. Better location than MGM and in November the poor pool isn't an issue. Try and upgrade to a Premium Room overlooking the Strip and Bellagio fountains.

Both are two of my favorites in Vegas.

MGM is one of the largest hotels in the world. Which is one reason I love it. Some are overwhelmed by the size.

Tons of tastey restaurants, and lots of gambling. Monorail starts here and can take you down the strip to the north. Good walking distance to NYNY, MC, Excalibur and the tram to Mandalay Bay and Luxor.

Paris has one of the best ventilation systems I've ever experienced as a non smoker. Love the buffet and love having breakfast at St Louis Cafe. Also has an inside walkway to Bally's. Location makes it an easy walk to Bills, Bellagio, and Caesars, along with many others in the area.

For me, both are great places to stay.

Simply for the fact that it's your first trip and for only 3 days, I would recco Paris. Central location right by many popular casino/resorts to check out. Right across form Bellagio - nice fountain views!

The walkway to Bally's is nice and goof for a change of pace if your gambling.

I loved MGM also - for all the reasons Lowarnce stated - but again, my opinion is based on location, give Paris a try.

I have stayed at both and enjoyed both. I would vote Paris for location alone and for the 'romance' factor.

If you are seeing the same rate for Paris and MGM, you're either getting a great deal on Paris or you're overpaying for MGM.

I've found a rate of $100 night for either one of them. Is that about right, or am I overpaying?

That's a good rate for Paris. A pretty decent one for MGM, too, but you can sometimes do better. Assuming romance is part of the plan, I would go with Paris.

For a first trip, and a short one at that, I'd go with Paris. The location can't be beat, making it easy to stroll up and down the Strip in either direction. It's a lovely hotel, with great restaurants and a much more intimate feeling. MGM is nice, but it's HUGE. You can wander around in there for days.(G)

Paris is lovely, in my opinion it is a much nicer property than MGM and MGM can be intimidating due to it's size. Paris also has a perfect location on the strip.
