The Orleans in Jan.

Wife and I will take our yearly trip to Vegas in Jan. 20th/25th. For the past 5 years we have stayed at The Orleans usually with a $35 rate. The best rate I can find is with sidestep.com of $45.51 per night (227.55 total). The Orleans web site rate is $64 per night ave (320 total). Assuming The Orleans with match the sidestep.com rate I think I will go ahead and make reservations. Any comments???????

Orleans has gone DOWNHILL in the last year.

Cost cutting gone wild.

LOUSY drink service on the casino floor.

Undesireable people from out of town.

Pathetic.

Southpoint Casino is a better deal.

I am also arriving on Jan. 20 for 4 nights. Have never stayed at the Orleans before. I phoned and booked directly with the hotel and the best deal I could get was $250 for the entire stay on their "Marti Gras Package" which gets me a breakfast and buffet dinner each day. Guess this works out to about what you are paying without the two meals included. Either way, seems like a good deal - just hope the property is not as bad as some have recently said and the service, rooms and food is okay. If for some reason they eliminate the shuttle service to the Strip and the Gold Coast, I will be staying elsewhere.

I was planning a trip to Las Vegas about the same time but only for a couple of days. I found that the rates at the Gold Coast were $35 for 1/13/08 to 1/17/08. I don't know much about Las Vegas as I haven't been there in almost 20 years but I thought this was a good deal over the Orleans which is next door.

Gold Coast, same owner as Orleans is an old, worn out casino.

Same type of disgusting clientle that ruins the evening.

Its cheap. BUT.

Book it. Orleans is awesome. If you don't mind being a ways from the strip. But you already know that since you've stayed there 5 times.

Some people say its gone downhill but I have yet to see that.

you asked for comments - so i'll make some.

i don't like the orleans - the day it opened was great, used to be a decent option for those wanting to spend less $$. it is now a dump - to me. it is not even a good chocie as a locals casino - truly some bad people frequent the place - but you already know you like the orleans, so why ask us for comments? you have visited, like the place and i hope you have a great trip. our comments are meaningless.

For once...pls take attention

I agree with BF. The hotel has gone downhill in the years. We were always promoting this hotel but can't after the last visit. It was the small things like 'can you clean my room - better' and what's with the dishes ouside the rooms for 2 days?

They need to pick up the pace!!
