Both at the same time?? My doctor gave me Xanax.

How does it make you feel and do you take it right before the flight or during?

Take one when you're at home first - so that you know how it affects you.

If you do a search- I think there's been some extensive posts on the subject and what everyone does. - some great advice!

Remind yourself - flying is very safe. You have a better chance of something happening probably crossing the street (probably not a real statistic).

I try to put things in perspective....

I read a statistic that more people die every year from getting kicked in the head by a goat than from flying.

It's silly, but it helps!

Xanax for me - but no alcohol. If i mixed the two I would be like the walking dead.

The suggestion to take one at home before flying to see how it makes you feel it a good one. For me, Xanax takes the edge off but I still feel like I am in control. I usually take one when I get to the airport and another later if needed.

Good advice Loveland, don't wait and take it for the first time before you fly. See how your body reacts. I take it about 30 minutes before we board the plane and all is good. ;) Need to call dr. for a refill. LOL

I don't think I would want to mix it with alcohol. What I will do is take it on the plane with me and take it only IF I need it. I am not fearful of flying just the feeling that I am in a box with no air! Am I nuts or maybe just claustrophobic!
