Planet Hollywood rooms

Are the new rooms really that bad? People are complaining a lot about dark, dreary and no drawers or closet? I need to decide between TI or PH. Which would be better?

As I said in another post, there are drawers, but only 3 small ones in a Resort Vista room and there is a closet, but only a single size like most rooms I've been in in Vegas.

Perhaps the lack of lights could be described as "mood lighting", but I would have preferred more lights and more storage space. We still like PH and plan on returning, but think the changes are for the worse and not better.

I did complete a comments form in the room, but I doubt they will make any major changes soon with the rooms having newly been done.

Thanks for your reply- we have a Fountain view room booked so it would be smaller than the room you had. Overall do you like the vibe and feel to PH over TI?

Hi Patty,

Have you been to Vegas before, or either of these hotels?

They are both marketed towards the 20 something crowd. I'm not in that group anymore but not that far removed either and had a good stay (except for an on-going thirst....LOL).

Stayed at PH earlier this year but my room had not been renovated. The room was quite nice, and the bathroom is big. I would agree that there was not a lot of closet space, but I'm only staying there a couple days, not living there. It was fine for our needs although a few more hangers could have been useful.

The buffet at PH is good, the casino is decent (except for cocktail service...hence the thirst), and having the Miracle Mile Mall wrapping around the casino can be very handy.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Besides, I'm sure you'll be up and down the strip at many locations, not just one....

Good luck and have fun!

Lone Palm,

My husband and I have been to Vegas 3 times. Once we stayed the Mirage, next time was a combo of Green Valley Ranch and Golden Nugget and the last time just Green Valley Ranch. We are bringing our 21 year old son with us and this will be a birthday gift from us. He was 15 the only time he went so I know he'll love it as an adult. I know both places are geared towards younger crowd, so I want a fun place for him. My husband and I can always wander at night by ourselves. I thought TI might be fun, but there is a Grand Opening promo for PH so I wasn't sure if I was making the right move. We have a Fountain view room at PH or a Deluxe Strip View at TI. TI would still be about $100 less. Just need some advice from people who have stayed at both. Thanks.

Patty

Spend your money on a Resort Room, not a standard size "view" room. Sights, especially the fountains, are best viewed from the street. Peering out a window is not how you will spend your time

The luxurious sized Resort room may or may not have a view,

but it is the best way to spend the money

PH is newer, more central, and has the best buffet. (skip the 24hr cafe)

The attached mall is nice. Walking distance to 'most anything. Great bathrooms, nice people / service, great casino atmosphere

If renting a car, the distant parking garage is a neg for PH

Are the resort rooms that much bigger than standard rooms? It would cost me an additional $300 to upgrade to resort room for my stay.

I think the location of PH is a lot better then TI and I am a HUGE TI fan!!!! I do know the bathrooms at PH are larger. I think your son will like PH and the location better. And to be there when they are having the grand opening (if I read your post correct) would be pretty exciting.

Have a Great Time!!!

Think we're going with PH- seems to be the better choice so far over TI

If a Resort room is $300 more than a view room, i might stick to the regular room, and ask nicely (after having all res info ready and given to checkin clerk) if an upgrade is possible....I have gotten a free upgrade a couple times at PH at times when occupancy was low to moderate

The Resort room adds a sofa/coffee table area, generally more space, and has 2 sinks/countertops in bathroom
