Hi

MGM to CC is a long way a few miles. MGM to Freemont st is even further, I would not even attempt it. Plus you would have to walk in some less than friendly looking area's.

It's Fremont, NOT Fremont. $2 per ride on the Deuce Bus or $5 for a 24 hour pass. Hey Big Spender.

how long a walk takes is different for everyone - we don't all walk the same speed. Do you mean walk for leisure or walk as in briskly for exercise?

you can get distances on mapquest or see a good LV map many places such as www.lasvegasadvisor.com. A common adage is everything isn't as close as it looks - scale can be deceiving since the hotels are big - a block in vegas can be 1/2 mile!

I would not walk MGM to DT - that is many miles, some people do, I walk everyday for exercise, ususally 3-5 miles in LV.

MGM to CC early in the morning with no other pedestrians about 15-20 min. Later in the day at least double if many people out - and that's walking quickly.

I like to walk, in LV not so once the strip is busy. So much to see and do.

MGM to Circus Circus is about 3.5 miles. MGM to Fremont Street is over 7 miles.

bazzaman, I suggest you do some research and planning before your trip. A little homework will really help you appreciate Vegas a lot more than going in "blind"....... :-)

According to Google maps it is about 2.5 miles along Las Vegas Blvd from Tropicana, where the MGM is, to Riviera Blvd, where Circus Circus is. It shows the distance again along Las Vegas Blvd from Tropicana to Fremont street to be about 5 miles. How long would those walks take? Too many variables to determine that. You'll have to decide for yourself how long it would take you to walk those distances including in factors for pedestrian traffic, crosswalks to wait for, and weather. It might be hot, or cold, or windy, depending on when you take such a walk. Enjoy.

Las Vegas Blvd between the Stratosphere and Downtown isn't the greatest of neighborhoods and there's not a great deal to see.

Not a lot of point in walking around there.

Oh wow, Bridge!!!

If it is 2.5 miles along Las Vegas Blvd from Tropicana, where the MGM is, to Riviera Blvd, where Circus Circus is and you can walk that in 15-20 minutes..you must be in great shape!!! I am impressed and guess I have a long way to go since I am only doing about 1.5 miles in 20 min!!! (of course I am probably heavier than you too) You have given me a new goal...thanks :)

As far as walking to downtown from anywhere on the strip, we've never done that and probably never will attempt that walk.

No doubt Ducky! 2.5 miles in 15 minutes is a 6 minute mile. Back when I was 17 and ran track I could run 1 mile in 6 minutes only under the best of conditions- that being it was only 1 mile and the track was clear and I had been training for months beforehand. Bridefan must be superhuman...

It's 3.4 miles according to yahoo maps from MGM to CC. 15-20 minutes, sure if you're in a marathon. Please Bridge, stick to facts, no way could you walk that distance in only 15-20 minutes. Maybe MGM to Harrah's in 20 minutes at 4:15 in the morning when there's very few people on the streets. During the day your limo would take 20 minutes to drive from the MGM to CC. Walking, count on it taking an hour. That is if you don't want to arrive sweaty.

It's misleading to look at the walking distance by mapping Las Vegas Blvd. There are many places where you have to walk away from the street, even to cross over pedestrian bridges adds to the distance.

Unless the OP is looking to walk for exercise and keep moving without stopping to site see there is no way to measure how long the walk would take. And, if you walk thru the big casinos you will add considerble distance to your walk.

Most tourists get distracted by some of the sights along the way and stop to look.

I think it is better to think about breaking your trip into parts.

Downtown is a separate trip, probably by deuce bus.

You might also consider taking the bus or taxi to Circus Circus and walking around the casinos on the north part of the Strip one day.

You can walk to the casinos around MGM on a separate day.

There is no point in trying to walk the entire Strip at once.

If you are a really good walker you can always walk north from the MGM and see how far you get. If you get exhausted you can always take a taxi back. That's another option.
