Help me give my sister a great vacation!

I'm heading to Vegas the week of March 9th for a conference, and my sister will be meeting me there. It's the first time to Vegas for both of us. We'll be there over her birthday (she's turning 22; I'm 28) so I want to make it a really special trip for her.

We're staying at the Southpoint and are planning on renting a car to get to and from the strip. She really wanted to see Cirque, so we have tickets for Mystere the night of her birthday. Beyond that, we have no solid plans (except for those pesky conference sessions I have to attend...) ;-)

I know that no matter what, we will find plenty to do in Vegas! Keeping that in mind, are there any can't-miss attractions for two twenty-somethings? I would also like to take her to a spa, of which there seem to be plenty in Vegas. Any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance!

One other quick note - neither of us are real gamblers, although we won't turn down a few pulls on the slot machines. :-)

Thanks!

My last couple trips to Vegas were girls getaway weekends . . . Qua Spa at Caesar's is amazing - check out their website. You don't have to purchase an expensive treatment - you can just get a day pass for $15-20 and use the facilities. There are huge roman baths, a eucalyptis steam room, arctic ice room (snow is falling), tea room, fitness center, etc, etc. They have a beautiful shower/vanity area, so you could spend take a bag with you to get ready and head out from there. Shopping at Caesar's Forums or Venetian. Piano bars at Harrah's and NYNY are tons of fun. Check out the Pussycat Doll's show at Caesar's. If you like country music/line dancing, Gilley's at Frontier. You could head over to Tao at Venetian after seeing Mystere at TI. Eat on the patio at Mon Ami Gabi (at the Paris) across from Bellagio Fountains - although make sure you see the fountain show at night!

Umm- the Frontier has been closed ( and imploded) for some time now, so no Gilley's any longer. There is some sort of country line dancing place further south trying to pull in some of the old Gilley's crowd, but that has never included me, so I can't say if they are any good,-

Are you going to be at Southpoint on a Friday night by any chance? If so Purple Reign ( a really good Prince cover band) performs in the showroom there and I think there is no cover charge to see them!

If not...South Point also has a fun new lounge area in the middle of the casino where you can relax and have a few drinks. They also offer a free shuttle to and from Mandalay Bay if you guys want to do that and drink on the strip! We used it last week and it was easy.

Great job on Mystere...it's my favorite CDS show...you'll love it!

Finally...this might sound dorky, but if you want to kill an hour doing something different...try playing BINGO at South Point! They have a huge BINGO hall upstairs. It's cheap, each session is a little over an hour, they serve free drinks while you play. You'll be the youngest ones in there I'm sure...but when my mom and I played last October (I"m 32) we had the BEST time...and a lot of laughter!

Have fun!!

If it is warm enough you can stop in at Carnival Court at Harrahs. It is fun there for all ages!!!

I agree with the Carnaval Court and dueling piano recommendations (both at Harrahs). You might also enjoy Marguaritaville on the Strip (at Flamingo). But one comment: If you'll be drinking while away from Southpoint--PLEASE do not drive. I understand law enforcement in LV is very strict about that . . . not to mention that the traffic is horrid . . . I wouldn't care to drive sober!

You might consider a trip up the Eiffel Tower at Paris for a nice view of the Strip. Go at night . . . watch a couple Bellagio water shows from up there . . . and then a few more from the ground. They're beautiful!

Walk through the Forum Shops at Caesars. You might get a kick out of the animatronic statue shows there (there are two . . . Atlantis is the better one).

You also might enjoy the dolphin habitat and Secret Garden at Mirage.

Gilly's is gone, but there's country music at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill at Harrahs, if that interests you.

I think you'd also enjoy Hard Rock casino and the Palms.
