Best place to watch 4th of July fireworks

This is our first trip to vegas on the 4th of July. Any suggestions as to the best place to watch the fireworks, and does anyone know what time we should be prepared for them or where they go off? 4th of July rookies!

Oh woops, I just found a post saying that the frieworks were no big deal in Vegas. Weird! SO I guess then we shouldn't plan anything around them? We were thinking of hitting VooDoo or MIX.

I've seen a few people asking the very same thing in the last few days and a lot of people seem to suggest Voodoo Lounge as it allows you to see the strip fireworks (the few there are) and the distant fireworks shows from surrounding cities.

I know Mandalay Bay is having a 20 minute fireworks show immediatly following the Vertical Horizon concert on the beach. From what I am told the fireworks won't be easily seen from either Mix or Foundation Room as the beach is on the other side of the hotel. Hope this helps.

The Stations casinos will have fireworks displays this year.

Some people have reported success seeing display-both near and far- from the top decks of the parking garages.

Last 4th of July I was meeting my sister for dinner at VooDoo. It was the only night she was going to be in town. We had reservations at 8 and arrived at 7:40. Needless to say, everyone in the dining room remained at their tables long after they finished eating all hoping to view the fireworks displays. But of course, in spite of popular belief, you cannot see anything in the surrounding neighborhoods except maybe an occassional flicker of color. The wait staff was trying their hardest to convince diners that there were not going to be any great sights to be seen.

We did not get seated until almost 9:00. We did sit upstairs, outside, the entire time we waited for our table and saw exactly nothing.

Not sure what is planned this year but I don't suggest VooDoo.
