First timers in Las Vegas...... help!

Hi all, me and my partner are going to Las Vegas in september, we are 21 and 25, I would like to have a really amazing experience but there seems so many things to do. Has anyone got a top ten of must do's? also what about the nightlife? is there certain good clubs to go to? Can you just turn up??

Any hints and tips would be really appreciated!

Yeah. First off, don't plan too much. Just go with the flow and enjoy! Sounds a bit uniformative but it's true.

If money is not a huge object you should try one of the shows, of course. Mystere is constantly placed as one of the top shows to see. Really though, just don't overplan. Nothing is out of reach when you're on the strip. Take a trip downtown for sure. Try to go there late, at least after dark. Guaranteed you will like it.

Hi Kaz

I wouldn't just turn up.

It's too far a journey to leave everything to impulse or whims.

This board gives loads of info for visitors so spend some time on here asking and reading.

Look at the restaurant reviews, read the TR's and write down as much as you want. You won't do it all anyway' but you can tick off some stuff.

I'm way too old to be offering first hand advice on clubs but Luxor appears to be gearing towards the young set, and of course you have the Hard Rock.

Also worthwhile checking out headliners during your stay. Janet Jackson is playing in Sept, as is Jessica Simpson. Log on to visitlasvegas.com to check all shows and events etc.

hope this helps

You should definitely see a show. Mystere is GREAT! You may also want to see a classic Vegas show. Plan some good meals as Vegas is definitely a foodie city with loads of great places to eat from buffets to fine, FINE dining! We always make a list of places/things we must see during our trip.

We've never been to a club there (not club types), but Pure at Caesar's seemed very popular. Also, I think I've heard other posters mention Tryst at Wynn (I believe). Most of them are outrageously expensive and require you to purchase bottles (beginning at $300-350) if you want a table in the club.

Plan some things, get show tickets, make a few dinner reservations and ALSO go with the flow. You'll have a great time!

An amazing experience - try skydiving if you're brave enough! That was an amazing experience! =)

We also did landsailing and we thought that was great too: http://golandsailing.com

Definitely watch a show; from reading what everyone's said, Love at the Mirage sounds awesome but we went to watch Penn and Teller and we thought that was brilliant!

Also do a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon - beautiful views!

If you want to do some shopping and after some discounts, try the Premium Outlet which is quite close to Central: www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp…

And of course check out the hotels and gamble! =)

Unfortunately I went to Vegas during the weekdays and couldn't find a good club to go so can't really comment on that.

Lastly, check out this site if you want to book any activities in advanced: http://www.viator.com/Las-Vegas/d684-ttd

Good luck and have fun! =)
