Bus and helicopter tours give very little time at the Canyon, in some instances as little as a half hour. If you have the time, rent a car, drive there and spend the night. It is well worth the effort. It would be a shame for you to travel half way around the world and only get a glimpse of one of the most beautiful places on earth. If you take a tour, be sure you go to the South Rim, not the West Rim which most of the flying tours use. The West Rim is scenic, but it hardly has the grandeur of the South Rim.

Go and spend at least a night at/near the Canyon. The morning colors are spectacular.

Walk along the rim and at least go down a trail as far as your able.

The beauty of the place is just awesome!

These folks are telling you about the real Grand Canyon at Grand Canyon National Park South Rim which is about 5 hours driving from Las Vegas. Helicopters don't fly there, and tha package you are referring to probably goes to Grand Canyon West not GCNP SR and not as scenic or dramatic.

If you have the time, book lodging in or near GCNP, drive there and spend the night. Will give you part of 2 days to see the canyon and the oportunity to see s sunrise and sunset over the canyon.
