cab vs monorail

Staying at Flamingo. Thursday nite dinner reservation at Mandalay Bay.

Is it better to take monorail to MGM, then walk to MB

or take a cab from Flamingo ?

No need to walk from MGM. Cross the street to Excalibur and take the free tram to MB.

What's "better" is up to you. For a nice dinner at a good restaurant I would personally take a cab. Far more relaxing..... :-)

Yeah, I agree. I am a huge fan of the monorail, but it has it's place. If you are going for dinner at Mandalay, I would just cab it.

Take a cab , the monorail will set you back almost $10 per person and leaves you at the back of the MGM, so you will have to hike through the casino then back outside, over 2 bridges and then get in another mini monorail. Whereas if you take the cab you'll be dropped off at the door , nice and fresh for about the same price.

I believe it's only a little over a mile from the Flamingo to the Excaliber, so you could actually walk it. If you don't want to walk then a taxi would probably be best. As others have said, the monorail involves walking too.

Defnitely take a cab- especially if you are dressed up. Going from the monorail station at the MGM to the strip involves a hike and is not worth the money. Then you have to get to the Excalibur to take the free tram to MB. Depending on where you are going- it could be another hike from there.

Which restaurant at MB?

If you are going to Red Square, Rumjungle, China Grill, etc. it would be a shorter walk to have a cab drop you off at THEhotel, than at the main entrance of MB.

what blagger said unless you've already happened to purchase a 24 hour monorail pass (which wouldn't be necessary staying at the flamingo unless you had a burning desire to visit the sahara and las vegas hilton multiple times withing 24 hours).

While access to the monorail is fairly close and easy in the Flamingo, the Monorail station is UNBELIEVABLY far away from the Strip at the MGM. It is a 10 minute walk (I'm not kidding, I've timed it)through length of the casino, the lobby, and a shopping arcade to get from the Strip entrance to the the MGM.

Take a cab.

Truthfully I think it's almost the same distance walking straight down the strip to MGM than taking the monorail. I found the monorail station there too far away to be of practical use. I'll either hoof it on the strip or take a cab.
