You will never know if it is worth it to you without going and judging for yourself.

I am a big fan of downtown, and always set aside a day to spend there, I have also stayed there 4 times.

Freemount.. that sounds dirty!

Fremont is defiantly worth the visit! Go for a evening and check it out, get dinner, maybe a fried twinkie, watch the light show and if ya drink go for a slushy!

HI Pook!...what is a 'slinky' and a 'slush'?? I am from the UK , not sure what the abbreviations mean, don't want to miss out on something when we are in Freemont!

Uh, no one said "slinky"? Twinkie is a yellow cake with cream filling. A fried one is dipped in batter and deep fried.

A slushy is a partially frozen cocktail, the consistency of slush.

worth the trip - if only to say you've been there and know that next time you want to go back or not. We now stay downtown after staying for years on the strip and love it down there. Always seems to be live music playing outdoors and the crowds are less than the strip, along with easy access to all the casinos. I say go and check it out, you can always leave if you don't like it.

I have never had a slushy while visiting, and I am not a big drinker either. So tell me if you will, what kind of slushy I should order, because I really want to try one now that I hear all this talk about them.

La Bayou has 26 different flavors. I like to Octane (orange), mudslide, white russian, $ex on the Bayou, Pina colada, strawberry...etc

I've been to Vegas 2 times and each time visited Fremont St. in the daytime. Kind of wish we had gone of a night to where we could see the full affect of all the bright lights, the light show on the canopy, and the live music. It's more of a fun party atmosphere at that time of day I would assume....at least, all the pics I have seen on T.A. seem that way. The day hours seemed a tiny bit slow there.
