any deals due to lower canadian dollar

My daughter and I are heading to vegas next thursday with other moms and her dance group. This trip was booked in June so we can't get out of it but there is noone that could have predicted the dollar dropping so low. We are looking for ideas for cheap eats and entertainment, the girls are all around the 16 year old age.

Hi... We are in the same situation, the exchange rate peso-dollar (Im from Mexico) is 30% more expensive now!

In the case of the meals, I read that if you sign up the Red Card at the Wynn, they comp you with 10 dollars for playing and you have the opportunity to get two free buffets at Wynn with the same 10 dollars as a comp for being a new player card user.

Hey Need2Travel, you can check out this site for show and food discounts: http://www.tix4tonight.com/index.html

As I am sure you are aware, the portions in Vegas are huge so can easily be shared with the addition of perhaps a side salad or appetizer.

Buy a 24 hour Deuce bus pass ($5 instead of paying for each trip separately - can buy on the bus **there is a discounted one-way rate for youth 6 to 16, $0.60) or multi trip monorail pass instead of paying every time you ride - that will save some $ Single Ride Ticket $5.00; One-Day Pass $12.00; Three-Day Pass $28.00. If you are flying Allegiant, I think they offer discounts for the monorail once you are on board.

btw, Linda P. (Sam's mom) is a very good friend of mine!

I am heading down from November 12 to 16 with a couple friends - can't wait.

The lasvegasadvisor.com has some great coupons.

One is good for $500 at the Palms.

Try and get as many coupons as you can. 2 4 1 will save you 50% off a lot of stuff

I just got back and really didn't see any great deals on eating but there is a McDonalds right on the strip by Harrahs. Also if you sign up for a players card at Caesars they give you a 20.00 food voucher so you can use it at their restaurants. If you have a vehicle it is far cheaper to eat off of the strip....southpoint had good cheap buffets.Have fun and also different casinos all have different rates for the dollar, when we were there imperial place was best rate.

I don't know if you got your US money as yet, but looking today, the Canadian dollar has gone up slightly. We are leaving in just over 3 weeks and I am waiting until the last minute to exchange currency. Most of the hotels on the strip have pretty good food courts. We liked the one at the Venetian hotel if you like Italian food, and NYNY has a lot of inexpensive kiosks for deli sandwiches, fish and hot dogs. We will also likely be on a budget when we get to Vegas, so food court food will most likely be our choice, other than a trip to In and Out.

Sorry, Southpoint is a casino off the strip and too far to walk but great buffet and great prices.

Honestly, I don't know if you have to worry too much about entertaining the girls at all. Although my girls are in hockey, not dance...they can entertain themselves for free when they venture out together at tournaments.

No doubt they'll have just as much fun just cruising the strip and seeing all of the hotels/neon/people as they ever would paying for shows.

As for food....I'm going to be on a big time budget too....so don't worry about booking into any restaurants...there are plenty of fast food/buffet options for a lot less !!
