You've Got To Be Kidding

Ok, so I continuously keep reading about the Stratosphere rides...thinking I'm a junkie for theme parks and rides, ESPECIALLY roller coasters, I thought I'ld check it out...

Went onto youtube and first off, you have got to be effing kidding me. Second, I am no longer as brave as I once thought I was as I would NEVER step foot on the X-Scream ride. Third, how do you not have a heart attack while on that thing?! I don't even think I can watch it

Cheers to whomever has braved this ride and probably experienced the THRILL OF A LIFETIME!

And to those who haven't...I don't blame you!

My friend and I rode the Insanity one. The one that flings you out over the side then spins.

I will say it was thrilling.

Back when the rollercoaster was up there my little brother and I rode it. The fact that we were so high off the ground didn't bother me, it was the fact that that damn coaster jerked and shook so much. ::insert sarcasm:: I thought we were for sure going off the side.

My husband and I went up to the observation deck at the Stratosphere. The view is great, and you also have a great view of 2 of the rides, don't remember the names, but both shoot you out over the side of the building. You can see the riders and it looks scary. Every time they went over the side everyone inside would scream. I could never ever get on any of those rides.

So, if you just want to observe the brave riders and see a great view of Vegas I recommend the trip.

HAHA We'll definately travel up the Strat but that's about as far as I'm going!

The one ride I seen on youtube...its like they are in a bob sled...goes back and forth. I don't know what the EFF stops that thing from sliding all the way off. It looks like they're just going right off into the air...EEP!

The one that shoots you up is CRAZY!! You'll NEVER have a view like the one you see when your up....wow.

The one that tilts you off the edge.....yep, scared the sheet out of me at first. But, it was very cool!!

Try it....you'll like it (Mikey I think lol)

The Romance lounge was almost too much for me. No way I'm going outside the building.

I dont trust Las Vegas roller coasters. The same as I wouldnt trust gambling money at Six Flags.

They each have their specialty and they should stick with it.

They have a perfectly good safety record. No one has ever been killed by them. I'm sure Disney wishes they could say the same thing.

Although there was the one time soon after it opened when the Insanity ride stopped and left two young girls hanging over the edge of the building for about 90 minutes.

Xtreme also stopped one time when it was over the edge. The ride was full of Japanese tourists.

My husband and daughter (then 21) did all three of those crazy rides. I couldn't watch. I just told them to call me on my phone when they were done. I would be in the casino.

My palms get sweaty when we are on the street below those crazy things.....

Just imagining being on that one that looks like a bob sled makes my skin crawl and my heart race!

Thank you to the above poster who mentioned people being stuck on both rides hanging above VEGAS!

AHHHH Definately not jumping on those two! hahaaa

I will in fact try the one that shoots up and down, that looks FUN! And there is no way I'm just going to lose lock and stop and slide right off...geez hahaaa...

I don't even want to KNOW how that ride works!

Again, KUDOS to anyone who has been on ! :)

I like hearing these stories! Crazie people
