Going April 19-24. Staying at Palazzo (I think) but haven't booked yet - waiting on offers. We refuse to pay more than $149/nt cause that's how much we paid for Venetian last trip. LOL! Willing to stay elsewhere if the price is right but otherwise Palazzo - love the 650 sq feet and three tv's like at Venetian.

Booked the Mirage for right now with the 'Volcano ' offer. We might change if we see something better or decide on a different hotel.

We are going to be at the Encore from April 26th - May 4th . I hate waiting to book Vegas so I just make sure we can change it if we want to if something better comes along.

Booked Southwest flight/hotel package-2259 with pre travel waiver so if we need to cancel we can (up to two hours before trip). So if we find a cheaper flight and deal for the Encore before April we will change in - 60.00 pre travel waivers.

Going to MGM from April 9th and leaving vegas and my flight leaves just before midnight on the 12th. Booked both flight and room seprately and it came out be about $450.00 canadian(as I am sharing a room with a buddy of mine). Last time I came my flight was $450.00 usd on its own and I stayed at the flamingo.

April 19th to 28th.

Flight is booked but not hotel. We'll wait and see what deals crop up in the next month or two.

Grayhorse! I am also going for World Cup - but tacking some days on before and after, so going April 12 or 13, and leaving on the 20th. Probably will stay at Mirage - just got a good offer for free nights plus free play, but have to see what sort of casino rate they will give on the non-free nights. Can't wait!

lawcat - great. We are going to the Dressage segments with a group of about 14 people from here - my wife's trainer and a lot of students - many of the husbands like myself are being dragged along kicking and screaming ( yeah , right ). We are staying separately in a hotel, a lot of people are staying on the cheap in a friends condo there though and we could stay with family in Henderson if I wanted to, but - heck I want to be on the strip!!!!

They used to have free shuttles from the Mirage to the Thomas and Mack so hope those are still running - may have to check when it gets closer to the event, nothing on the website about those. Bellagio and Southpoint are sponsoring hotels so they might get the shuttles.

Booked tonight to go from 29th March till 8th April - 11 whole nights of madness in LV!!!!

Going for the first time, so want to make the most of it all, with time in between to relax. And its my 40th whilst we are there (well, my 21st again!!) Can't believe I'm THAT old!! lol!!

When I first decided to go, I was convinced that booking seperate flights/rooms was the way to go, but not now, with the appalling exchange rate, so I've succumbed to the lure of the package, for the following reasons:

1) Fewer & fewer flights go direct from Manchester, so extra cost incurred in getting to the departure airport

2) Flights have gone up considerably in the past couple of months

3) Most flights include a lay-over somewhere in the journey which results in flight times averaging approx 17hrs

4) Hotel discounts/offers looked appealing but never seemed to be when I could go!!

5) Hotel rates are also subject to extras, such as 9% tax & also a daily charge (can't remember what they call it, but I think it was NYNY that I checked today & it was $4.50 plus tax a day!)

6) Tranfers are included, so no getting ripped off by taxi drivers!

7) Individual bookings for flights & hotels are not always covered by insurance policies in the same way as packages are, as many people found last year, to their peril.

I've just booked 11 nights at PH (the hotel I first set my heart on) for around £1700 for two with Virgin, flying direct from Manchester with transfers, taxes, meals onboard, etc included, with the 10% discount that ended today. I couldn't beat that, pricing it direct. Also, both me & hubby were tied to specific leave that we could take at work, so we needed to make sure it was all sorted, so couldn't hang back to see if there were any bargains to be had!!

I'm so giddy!! Las Vegas here I come!!

Any tips for having a Fab 40th would be welcome!!

Suzi xx
