On the Strip the closest you will come is Tropicana or maybe Sahara. Riviera and Flamingo are from the same era but have too many slots to have that ambience.

You have more choices Downtown and off-strip. Binions literally reeks of history, and I like Gold Coast for the old-fashioned feeling.

Wild Wild West on Trop. Take off expensive jewelery and don't leave nothing of value in in plain view in your car. Careful with your small talk. If you ain't tough, don't act it. Have fun.

Golden Gate because it is the oldest, you just have to get over the smell of rotten 99 cent shrimp.

The Riviera comes to mind but I haven't been there in 3 years. Downtown, Binions and the El Cortez.

Golden Gate without a doubt. It was the very first casino. Seems like their phone number was just "1" when the telephone came out. Do a little research online (history), and you will really appreciate the atmosphere - Player Piano and all. I've considered staying the night there... I'd almost bet it is haunted :)

what about a place that seldom gets any mention on this forum, the Las Vegas Club downtown? I know it's not old cowboy, but the place has been around forever. For years they've advertised as the most liberal blackjack in town. Thoughts?
