1st trip = im lost in what to do

Hi everyone, im a 23 year old gambler who is going to vegas for the first time. I am trying to get around 20 friends from around the country to meet up in vegas at the end of may. We are going to stay during the week to make it cheaper. We would like to stay in the strip but we dont know where?? ive done so much research it makes me sick. I just cant decide! everyone has their opinion. I would imagine a 90 dollar room during the week is our average to what we want to spend. The choices for that price are endless during the week. Some ideas are the flamingo, treasure island, the palms, mandalay bay....PLEASE HELP!!! we are going may 25-th-29th...

out of those options i would say Mandalay Bay. Palms is not on the strip, but would fit your age range. I think MB would be nicer and have a better pool area for you compared to treasure island and flamingo. however, if you stayed at Flamingo and your friends stayed elsewhere, at least they could pay to get into the Flamingo pool, as it is open to the public.

I wouldn't count on everyone staying at the same hotel.

We always invite friends when we go to vegas and b/c of the different income levels, we just let everyone pick where they want to stay and then we meet up for gambling/drinks/dinner/shopping, etc.

Hve you considered Planet Hollywood? It's a better location the Mandalay Bay and it's suits your young age.

Agree with The Planet as a good choice along with Mandalay. Mandalay's rooms and pools are top notch, and Planet Hollywood has killer beds and one of the best buffets in town. Plus three words: Pleasure Pit Blackjack. or is it poker? one of those Have fun!

Why not stay mid-strip, so you are in very easy walking distance to so many of the casinos, clubs etc. Bills, Bally's, NYNY, Paris, maybe Mirage... Lots of options there.

I think mid strip would be the best and per people who had responded to my post since we are also going during that time and Beds and the pool are the most important to us Mirage is the bets deal for your money if you want a great pool and a young crowd but a nice room. You are in the center of it all. Check

smartervegas.com for some really good discounts on the Mirage for May.

Click on my name and you can see the post of trying to choose between the Mirage and TI.

I haven't stayed there yet - but I recommend The Mirage. Great location, great pool ( with your ages - check out Bare ), nicely refurb rooms, and these days summer rates during the week are probably well under the $90.

I to am 23 and I'd go with the Mirage or Flamingo. They're almost right across the street from each other and they're both center Strip. You can get a good deal at both for $90 or less a night.

Make sure if you stay at the Flamingo though you get a GO Room. The older rooms are a little shoddy. But like a previous poster said, the Mirage just got renovated a few months back.

My next trip will either be Mirage or Flamingo.

They're both walking distances to pretty much everything.

Mandalay Bay is a nice hotel with a b*tchin pool but its wayyyyy far south Strip.

I always suggest mid-strip for someone who has never been to Vegas before. You can easily get to the casinos on the south and north strip -usually by walking. Try the Mirage or Flamingo- or even TI. TI is more north but it is connected to the Mirage by a free tram. The Palms is off strip and MB is on the far south part of the strip.

My top choices for you would be TI or Flamingo. Both are Center Strip (with Flamingo having the better location). Looking at rates, you've picked an EXCELLENT week!!

TI is a newer property that rather caters to a younger crowd. It's newer than Flamingo. Prices for your dates: $79, $79, $79, $109.

Flamingo's GO room is $80, $75, $75, $75 and standard rooms are $50, $45, $45, $45. Flamingo has the better pool . . . and an adult pool that you might find fun ;) . Marguaritaville is there (good times) and Carnaval Court is just down the Strip.

OK . . . I've made my decision . . . I'd go with Flamingo :) Have fun! I'm jealous!!
