Which Hotel on the Strip?

My husband and I are going to Vegas for the USBC national bowling tournament in May. We are staying at the Gold Coast for the 1st 3 nights, and then switching over to a hotel on the Strip for the last 2 nights. We want to stay mid-Strip so we can walk easily in both directions to see the sights and casinos.

Here is some background info on us: We are in our early 30's, and like to stay at nice hotels, but not necessarily Ritz-like hotels. He wants us to have a safe, clean room; I want us to have those too, but also would like a Strip-view room at a nice hotel that has enough amenities at it. I have narrowed the search down to Bellagio, Caesars (Augustus or Palace Towers), or Mirage. Any thoughts???

Bellagio will be the most opulent of the lot. If the budget allows, that would be my choice.

Caesars is huge, but we liked it when we stayed there. With only two days, you'd have enough to do right on property!! (that is, if you wanted to)

Mirage . . . we love it. It's smaller, very nice.

You can't go wrong with any of them.

Bellagio is definitely the nicest property of the 3, with a great location.

Mirage is nice, but a more moderate property, but the pool is one of the best in Vegas.

I agree. But it always makes me chuckle when someone describes a hotel with 3,000+ rooms as "smaller". Only in Las Vegas lol.

Caesars would be the perfect place, The Augustus & Palace Tower is better than any other you have listed. You have lots of great choices in where to eat, great night life, The Forum for some shopping, excellent pool, the best Spa Qua Baths & as you said central location. In the Augustus Tower you can get a view of the Bellagio fountains plus strip. The rooms are huge with a huge marble bathroom with an oversized spa jetted tub & a walk in shower & double vanities plus a huge closet with guest robes also A nice sitting area with a couch plus 2 TV'S & a CD player. The bed is so comfy the Ultra Soft Pillowtop that you don't even want to leave the room. We love staying at Caesars, it has everything in 1 place, it a fantastic place to stay.

BTW the bathroom at Mirage is very small.

If you want a room with a view, it's hard to beat a lakeview room at Bellagio.

We've stayed at all 3:

Caesars twice - first time was great (nothing to compare it to)

Second time at Caesars was VERY disappointing, and we never went back.

Stayed at Mirage and absolutely hated it. We are pool people and we could never get a good chair at the pool. It was crowded like sardines in a can at the Mirage. Got sick from the food and never won anything in the crowded casino.

Stayed at Bellagio and loved it. Went back 3 more times - all excellent experiences.

Tried the Wynn for our anniversary & had a terrible time.

Back to the Bellagio for 4 more times and we'll keep going back forever.

Bellagio has the best location; best pool; best customer service; best dining options; and best casino (of the 3).

You can get a really good room rate if you pick the right days in May. And their cheapest room is better than most hotels' best room.

Make sure you don't get a wore lakeview room, they're in need of renovation.

We have always got great rooms & friendly staff at Caesars.

If you guys are into a little bit more of a younger hip place, Planet Hollywood would be a choice as well. You have all the amenities you could ever want with the Miracle Mile Shops on property. The PH thinks they are 5 star though as they usually charge a bit more for their rooms. If you can get into a promo rate, I'd personally take it, but as posted, I don't think you'd be disappointed with either of your 3 choices.

I stayed at the mirage in feb. 2008 and got a room that had not been renovated yet, it was still roomy, clean and had pool/strip view. They have since renovated the rooms and I would stay there. The hotel has great dining options, not a bad casino/sports book and has a good feel to it.The location is excellent and right now its probably the best priced of the three.Mirage gets my vote.
