If you not familiar with mgm the rainforest cafe would be allot of fun for your child. decent prices too. Also, right by the restaurant is the lion exhibit, it's a free quicky.

LOTS of restaurants , probably not many ( or none ) bars. There are entire hotels catering to families still ( Excalibur/ Circus circus ) and others that are "family friendly "

when are you going, and where are you staying?

Bars in the US tend to be alot less family friendly than Pubs are in the UK. We tend to think of a "bar" primarily as a place that serves drinks, and as a result not a place for kids.

"Dont bother posting if you want to tell me Vegas is not for kids lol" You're posting on an open forum on the internet - no way to prohibit people from posting.

Bars are not the place for 9 year olds, neither is Vegas

Nevrox: There's an ESPN Zone at New York/New York. Kind of a hike from Mirage, but if you're taking a walk down that end of the Strip, it's a fun place. My kids have also eaten at Rainforest Cafe (MGM) which is fun. Stop in at the M&M Store when you're down by the NY/MGM end of the Strip. Have fun!

Forgot - My kids really had fun at Margaritaville. It's close to Mirage (by Flamingo I think). There are a lot of themed restaurants (Toby Keith's @ Harrah, etc. that might be a fun option).
