Las Vegas Nevada

Hi,

Off to Vegas on the 29th may this year. We are on a stag doo and there are 16 of us. I have just found out the drinks are very expensive. I have been there before but 6 years ago. Stories of $5 for an orange juice etc. During the day we will jump in cabs/ mini buses and try to find somwwhere cheaper to drink off the strip. Can any advise a place, places where we could go???

Many thanks Tony.

Just head tothe north art of the strip... Beers and drinks get cheaper out there.

Bill's in the middle of thestrip also has cheap bottled bud at the center bar and $1 Margaritas in the back bar of the casino.

O'Sheas is always a good bet for cheap beer.

Casino Royale is a good location and has $1 Michelob beers.

Ellis Island is off the strip on Koval (behind Bally's) and brews their own beer, it's good and $2 a pint.

There are a few places in PH that have happy hour. Not all are a good deal, but if you are beer drinkers you can have all you can drink Miller from 4-6 pm at Blondies for $20 each.

You can also go to a liquor store and buy what you want, put it in a cooler in your room (bring a soft cooler in your suitcase) and bring a couple bottles with you while you tour around.

Go to Ellis Island on Koval and Flamingo just a block from the strip. They have pints for $1.50.

Are you gamblers? Free drinks while gambling, for the cost of a dollar or two tip per drink.

This map should help you out:

As for buffets they can range from $7.77 to $50+. You can find good dinner buffets on the strip in the $30 range. If you plan to venture Downtown Main Street Station has a very good $10.99 Champagne brunch on weekends.

Also if you look up the Silverton they have some good drink specials. I'm not 100% sure where it is, I know it is off strip but I have looked it up myself and are hoping to make it there on our trip in May :)

Buffets during the week on Strip can run you Breakfast 12.00-16.00

Lunch 15.00-20.00

Diner 20.00 - 30.00

Weekends brunch 20.00 (some include champagne.

If you go to downtown Vegas, it is alot cheaper to eat and drink. You can take the duece (bus system) there for $2.00, or hop in a cab which is quicker and spend a day down there, especially on the weekend they have bands playing on the street :)

Go to Double Down Saloon 4640 Paradise, Dino's 1516 S. Las Vegas Blvd, or Ellis Island behind Bally's. Casino Royale is a hole but has cheap beer and drinks, and Crown & Anchor 1350 E. Tropicana. Cabs are expensive too! Utilize Vegas' public transportation system. Do not miss the Freemont Street experience either. Drinks are much, much less expensive downtown. Oh! almost forgot! You must go to Firefly tapas bar on Paradise. All the locals hang there. Incredibly reasonable delicious food. You will not be sorry.
