Is the Mirage really that dirty? Should I change hotels?

Hi there. I have been reading a lot about how dirty the mirage rooms have been... even with the recent renovation.

Is it as bad as it seems?

I've been to vegas many times and found (like many others) a great rate at Mirage - going in July...

Just wanted to get some more feedback it see if it's really as bad as it seems. I really value all the great stuff this board has to offer.

Thanks in advance...

I've stayed at the Mirage several times and have never seen the conditions described in the other thread. However many of the hotels have significantly cut back on the staffing this year which may be causing these problems.

I loved my stay at Mirage last year, obviously things change (staff cuts etc) and its been extremely busy for March Madness and spring break so every hotel was very busy but I wouldn't worry too much. I'm booked at the Mirage in August and looking forward to staying there again.

We've stayed at The Mirage at least 10 times, last time was six months ago, and never had a problem. But then, I'm always amazed at those people who go ballistic because they found a hair on a bathroom floor.

I've stayed in 6 hotels on the Vegas strip. The Venetian was the nicest but the Mirage is my favorite. I stayed there last year and saw no issues with cleanliness.

going to be checking in at the Mirage in 3 days!

we booked it again because we were very happy with the room, restaurants, and property in general when we stayed there this past Feb.

what other thread are you referring to?

the only thing I'm a little concerned about is the elevators. hope they are all working now.

I just returned from the Mirage last weekend (Apr 3-5) and stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms on the 24th floor of the tower. Not sure what you've read, but I can tell you that my room was spotless and housekeeping did a fine job each morning.

That being said, I think that the casino floor is starting to show its age. After checking out the Encore casino (bright, intimate, less crowded), and then returning to Mirage, the Mirage casino felt a bit worn down. Just my observation.
