A NEW casino between Monte Carlo and Bellagio?

What lies between Monte Carlo and Bellagio, the proposed development site for another MGMMirage property?

Is it just the Boardwalk?

If this new development is 66 acres, aren't there more places surrounding Boardwalk that will be imploded and developed?

Did they decide on the name of this new development yet? I hope its not just City Center?

No, I think the Clooney-invested property is in a different location (closer to the airport?)

I have heard the name City Center and also the name Cosmopolitan. if they demo the boardwalk, there is a huge amount of space. Its supposed to be shopping, condos, hotels, and most likely a casino also. Its an MGM project still in development. It may be several names "at City Center"

The players club at the Boardwalk told me in August, they here the boardwalk will go in 2007. I wanted to make sure I cashed out all my comps because the original schedule was demo in late 2005.

I am sure the damage to the Beau Rivage will likely affect the planning and financing for this new whatever. I also think its a lot more than just a new hotel, casino.

If half of what is planned for Vegas comes true, It will be radically different in 3 years. You have Harrahs with the IP, Ballys, a new Wynn encore, Ivana Trump, the Donald, Clooney, Hooters, some michael jordan condos, the New Frontier, venetian expansion. They will probably run out of construction equipment.

Planet Hollywood seems to be a sure thing.

Just walked past that location a few weeks ago and there were signs up all over that said "coming soon: Cosmopolitan" Sounded more like condos than a hotel, though.

George Clooney's Las Ramblas is to be built on Harmon between Koval and Paradise. It will be built within walking distance of the famed $4.95 steak special at Ellis Island.

The latest MGM-Mirage project. The $4 billion CityCenter project sits between the Bellagio and Monte Carlo on 66 acres and will be developed over time into a master-planned urban complex defined by a variety of avenues, places and experiences. As envisioned, Project CityCenter represents the most significant privately funded project in the United States at this time.

Located at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, Project CityCenter is dramatic in scale. The site is approximately the same size as three major New York City landmarks combined: Rockefeller Center, SoHo and Times Square. As such, Project CityCenter will propel the urbanization of the Las Vegas valley and complement previously announced plans for continuing redevelopment in Downtown Las Vegas.

MGM MIRAGE will partner with world-renowned architects, residential developers, hotel operators and retailers in designing, financing and operating the project, which will be constructed in phases.

The first phase of Project CityCenter will include the development of 18 million square feet of space consisting of a 4,000-room hotel/casino, three 400-room boutique hotels to be operated by world-famous hoteliers not currently represented in Las Vegas, approximately 550,000 square feet of retail shops, dining and entertainment venues, and 1,650 units of luxury condominium, hotel/condominium and private residence clubs.

The first phase of the project is anticipated to create more than 7,000 construction jobs and, on completion, more than 12,000 new permanent positions. This represents the largest single new employment opportunity in the history of Las Vegas.

Clooney says that he wants to attract the upscale, elegant and smart casual type guest. He doesn't want t-shirt and jeans types. I don't think that his guests will be overwhelmed by the $4.95 steak special. Although the $1 beer from the Ellis Island microbrewery might be another story!!
