Both hotels have lots to recommend them. Need to know a little about who's going on the trip, when it is and what you're hoping to get out of Vegas in order to give advice.

How about the Palazzo?

I've stayed at the Venetian, but since the Palazzo opened that's the only place I stay. You are asking about the Venetian vs the Bellagio but I think the Palazzo vs the Bellagio is a better comparison. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the Palazzo.

We go once or twice a year, and we LOVE the Venetian. We prefer it the regular Venetian to Venezia Towers (too far) and Palazzo (too small and too far from the spa). We have stayed at Bellagio but the rooms are nicer at Venetian (larger for sure) and we prefer the location of the Venetian overall. I'm sure you will receive lots of opinions that disagree with ours. The truth is that all of these places are nice and you'll have fun regardless! ENJOY!

Why not try out the Palazzo or get a combination of both hotels during your stay (if you don't mind that is)? As for newness the Venetian rooms were recently renovated, and the Palazzo was just opened around last year or so. We had a great experience with Palazzo- the resort by itself is compact and so you can easily walk to anywhere you want to- plus, it isn't as smoky as the Venetian, and you have easy access to the Venetian if you decide to visit there.

If you are interested our experience there as well as some photos we took of the Palazzo are down below at the links:

The Venetian/Palazzo has larger rooms with more high end amenities. The sitting area is separate from the bedroom which is very nice. The rooms are very roomy & huge bathroom with a real nice shower head. Bellagio rooms are showing wear & not as nice as the Palazzo/Venetian IMO. The casino is also very nice & lots of great places to eat.

I think your post said the Venetian or Bellagio?

In a nut shell both the V and the B are great Hotels, The B has the better location and the better pool grounds while the V has the better Std rooms.

The V also has an upper level as you know with much more to do on your downtime.

Both have great restaurants with the V having a better choice of lower cost eating.

I have stayed in both and I prefer the Bellagio in the summer because of the pool grounds but I have to give the overall edge to the V.

If you were happy with the V then stay there.

Bellaio since you have already stayed at Venetian. Gives you something to compare for your next trip to Vegas.
