Cash, Credit Card or Traveler Checks?

I know it is completely up to the person whether or not they want to carry cash around or put everything on a credit card while in Vegas. I am wondering what other people do while they are there. Cash is nice to have on hand for the casino, while plastic is nice for dinners/room charges. Any suggestions of what works out best for you? We leave in two weeks for our honeymoon and we cant wait!

Although the WI summer hasnt really been a summer-to prep us,so we might not be as ready for the Vegas heat! Im pretty sure we will make do :)

Cash for gambling and drinks, credit cards for everything else.

We haven't had much of a summer in Michigan either, surprisingly I'm actually looking forward to the heat in Vegas.

Cash or a debit card are good to have obviously, but you can't go wrong having traveller cheques. I found that bringing your credit card can really open you up to some problems (i.e. cash advances). The cheques helped budget my gaming and let me know when they were out I was done having fun. When I go, I leave the credit cards at home.

cash for gamblings drinks and incidentals and credit card for anything else

I like to seperate my gambling budget per day from the rest of my cash

on my last trip last sepetmeber i went foror 4 days and my gambling budget was $1200 i put $300 in 4 seperate envelopes

once my $300 is up i would have stopped gambling

furtunately i never had to stop gambling

as a matter of fact i didn't even touch the last envelope and actually started to spend some of my gambling budget on other things so it worked out great

I didn't really know people still used travels checks while traveling in the country. Cash for everything but meals.

We charge everything to our hotel bill; drinks, restaurants, spa, even sometimes shopping. Of course eventually the hotel bill is paid with our credit card. And if we stay at an MGM-Mirage property we can also charge at thier other hotels.

Any other dining or show tickets I put on our credit card. I basically only use casah for gambling, cabfare and tips.

I would skip Traveler Cheques they are just a pain. Cash and Credit as mentioned is the best combo.

We take all 3. A small amount of cash maybe $150 for cabs to the hotel from the airport and tips for bell hops etc. Majority of our money is travellers cheques as you can cash up your daily amount of $ at the casino cashiers. And my bank card for large purchases and if I run low on cash.

I also split my money into daily allowances and stop spending when it has gone.

We use cash and CC. I also stop at our bank just before we leave for LV and get $50. in one dollar bills. There is always someone to tip, valet parking, bellman, housekeeping, etc.

Credit card for paying the room at the end of the stay and for our expensive dinners out.

Reasonable amount of cash for cab fare, tips, and incidentals on the trip there.

The rest go in Traveler's Chcecks which we put in envelopes for our gambling budget each day. If you run out of money, you are no longer allowed to gamble, simple as that :)

I like the TCs because if something happens we can get our money back. We're lucky that our credit union still gives them out. I don't like having to pay ATM fees if I don't have to!

You'll need some cash for when you first get there then it's CC & Traveler's Cheques all the way. TC's are more convenient than led to believe on this forum since they can be cashed @ any casino's cashier plus you get the best exchange rate possible.
