A Good Steak Dinner

We are eating at casual restaurants this trip, but I would like to surprise my husband. He enjoys a good steak but we aren't bringing dressy clothes. Nice shorts and a polo shirt are about as dressed up as we plan on getting. Keeping that in mind, where can we get a good quality steak but get away with casual dress? I would like to keep it around $100 total for the meal, before tip. (we won't be having any alcoholic beverages with dinner)

I agree that Circus Circus is your best bet for the budget that you're looking at. It's also a place where you won't feel too out of place dressed casually, but be aware that even though it's at CC, a lot of people make the effort to wear nice clothes there.

If you have transportation, for under $100, off strip I'd recommend Austins Steakhouse at the Texas Station hotel. Casual dress (shorts) is fine and the steaks are first rate, prime cut, 40+ days dry aged beef.

The Palm at the Forum Shops sounds like it would work.

"The Range" at Harrah's and if you can get a table with a Strip view all the better

Now I haven't been to the Palm in Vegas but I have in other cities. I don't think they would appreciate people in shorts. I also think it would be more than $100 per couple, even without drinks.

Thanks for the input everyone. We are renting a car so we can go off strip. Thanks for giving me some great options!

We had a really good steak in Mon Ami Gabi, while wearing shorts!

I can second Austin at Texas Station. Had a much better steak there than at Circus Circus where I found the steak to be pretty bland.

I suggest Envy on Paradise. Go to www.restaurant.com and get a certificate. It really is one of the best steak places in Vegas. And you will be fine in shorts.
