TR 8/16-19 - Paris Hotel and Casino

My Husband, Mother-in-law and brother-in-law went to Vegas from Sunday, August 16th through Wednesday, August 19th. My H and I are both Diamond members and had complimentary stays at any Harrah's property. We decided on Paris. We are so happy that we did.

We arrived in Vegas on Saturday morning at about 10:30am. We took a taxi over to Paris for check-in. We were allowed VIP check-in because of our Diamond status, however, we did notice a long line at the front desk. I couldn't tell whether it moved fast or not, but it was extremely long. Our room wasn't ready, but we had 2705 (red room). The room was lovely and the view was spectacular. We could see the Bellagio fountains and the Eiffel tower. My MIL and BIL had 2708 and had a view of the pool. They too had a red room.

I'm going to give you the basics:

Food - We ate at the Buffet and the cafe. The service at the cafe was long...but the food was pretty good.

The Buffet was good, but not alot of variety.

Hotel - The rooms were kept well and all the staff seemed very nice.

Casino - We didn't win, but the dealers and drink service were excellent. I loved being able to go between Bally's and Paris.

Spa - My MIL and I went to Bally's spa for a swedish massage. It was excellent. The Spa at Paris charged more for the same service and didn't allow our discounts...that was displeasing, and in my opinion, not that smart.

Location - You couldn't ask for better. We were in the middle of everything. It was too hot to walk anywhere, but everything seemed close via taxi.

We enjoyed our stay and plan to pick Paris again.

Your MIL did well to go to The Bally's Spa. Paris Spa is nothing special, and not worth the difference on cost from Bally's

Great review of Paris. Do you play slots or tables?

Glad to hear you enjoyed Paris, we stayed their once and the rooms were great. We always seemed to find ourselves gambling and eating at Bill's or Bally's though, so last trip we stayed at Bally's.

Next time probably back to Paris though because the rooms were so nice. Did you try Ah-Sin's, good asian place there at Paris. I also liked the sports book at Paris.

What were your favorite gambling vices, slots or tables? Did you go to Planet Hollywood?

Your right that Paris is the greatest location, center of the best MGM & Harrahs's properties. Nice you brought along the in-laws..always fun to have some friends along to share the experience.

One more question, have ya'll ever tried the Range at Harrah's? Looks like a good steak place but I've never been.

Ohio Blonde - We basically only played tables. We did some slots just as a break from the tables

Hello Wythany -

We chose Paris over Ceasars because Ceasars table stakes always seem to be so high. So while we would probably enjoy our room, our playing time at the casino would have been short and we would have to go elsewhere to find tables in our budget...it just wasn't worth it. We like to play late in the evening...so I wouldn't want to have to lug myself to my room across town at 2 in the morning.

Maxx64 - We didn't try the Asian spot at Paris...My MIL is a complete (all american) food eater. She doesn't venture.

We did visit Planet Hollywood and while there, we saw Shaquille Oneal and Oscar de la Hoya. I think Shaq was filming his new reality show. It was alot of fun. The casino seemed so quiet and reserved. There were plenty of people there, but not real lively.

We also went to Riviera, one of my personal favorites...and it looked like a ghost town.
