Every casino/ hotel in Vegas give you free drinks while you gamble. Be sure to give a buck or two or five to the Cocktail waitress or bartender for tips. And, you could ask 4 pretty much any libation

Cut off point, Jack? as long as you're willing and able to tip when you gamble, the drinks will keep comin', my friend.

"Tip...is not free then really is it?"

If you want to look at it that way, then if you lose at the tables while the "free" drinks are coming they arent really free either.

Maybe its better for those like you to say there is no charge for drinks while you play, however a tip is always expected and appropriate.

well, no it's not really free, in addition to money you're gambling away...but I'd rather play penny and nickel slots and pay $2 in tip for a Tequila Sunrise, AMF, LIIT or a good beer than pay full $

I've never tested the limit, but I would imagine that once you pass the point of sloppiness/stumbling/etc they'd cut you off like any place.

Not to turn this into another "Brits and tipping" mess, but while the drinks are free the service should be tipped.

That plus the gambling recklessness that alcohol sometimes causes often makes the drinks anything but "free!"

I'm British and always tip! Expect to pay around $7-15 for a cocktail, plus tip at a bar or just a $1-2 tip from the comfort of the table or slot machine when the cocktail waiters come round. Either way, you still have to tip.

Why are tips expected?! Tips in my opinion are earned, if someone gives you good service they get tipped, simple. If they don't then they don't get a tip, tipping for the sake of it will never be conducive to improving staffs attitude.

I've had a few posts closed for making that very point raybrahms....

The system in the USA is for employers to pay poor wages and then tell the staff to make them up by getting tips. Tipping a cocktail waitress who visits you at your machine or table is one thing, tipping the bar tender who has only to lean across and pass you the expensive drink you have just paid for is a nonsense.
