TI or Flamingo?

I'm going to be in Vegas in August this year for 5 nights and looking at booking either TI or Flamingo, though leaning towards Flamingo due to no resort fees, as I don't fancy paying an extra $100 in unnecessary fees for things I won't use (which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion).

TI is the nicer property in my opinion. Forgetting about the resort fee, I'd personally say it was worth $20 per night more than Flamingo anyway, especially for standard room vs standard room. If you stay at Flamingo then definitely consider upgrading to a Go Room. Flamingo does have the nicer pool area if that's important for you, though it's open to non-guests in the afternoons and can get crowded.

Having stayed in Flamingo's GO Room in November, I'd recommend it. Fun casino, good pool complex just walkin' thru it, cool animals, and GO room was funky and awesome. Will stay in TI next month.

In August? I'd go for Flamingo, because of its much nicer pool and better location. While I often stay at the Flamingo, I'd caution that the standard rooms are pretty old and worn -- although comfortable enough. If you want a little bit of luxury, see if their GO rooms are a reasonable price.

Stayed at both years ago and while the T.I. may be the better house , i am partial to the "big bird" for the location and the pool.

OK so Flamingo it is. Have a quote on Expedia for Deluxe Go $629 and Luxury Go $751, though I'm going through my travel agent for all the international and internal flights, as well as all the accommodation.

I think just Deluxe Go will be suitable for the 2 of us.

All Go Rooms are the same. Luxury has a Strip view, Deluxe does not.

Why book your hotel through a travel agent? You'll almost certainly get a better deal booking yourself directly with a hotel. Way too early to be actually booking your hotel for August anyway. Wait until around May/June when promotional rates for your dates will appear.

You probably won't have many complaints about the Flamingo if you have only stayed at Circus Circus. We usually stay at the Flamingo and get the deluxe (standard) room. The rooms have antique gold worn sculptured carpet and worn furniture, old style tvs. The last two times we stayed the bedding and the beds were new. Our rooms have been clean, however, and everything works. The worst thing in the room we had last was there was some peeling paint on the bathroom vanity, no big deal. If you want a new, updated room you could go for a GO room, generally 20 to 25 dollars more a night. We have stayed at TI a couple of times. The standard rooms are nicer. We found the machines very tight and the staff rude.
