What's Your Best Car Deal For April?

Trying to find the best deal for April. Nothing I have come up with yet is that great. Have tried entertainment book coupons, aarp, sams club, airlines. Any other ideas?

I haven't found anything great for April either... it may still be a little too early. I did book with Alamo for around $16 a day for a compact using discount codes from our electric co-op, but that is just my fall back, I'm certainly planning on finding a better deal between now and then.

I'll be interested in hearing any good rates for April as well...

we're staying april 21-27. rates were great for the 1st 3-4 days $12 per day economy, $14 midsize) and then went way up, so we booked a car for 3 days and will go without one the other 3.

I have never rented a car while staying in Vegas but $12 a day seems like a deal. Does it really get lower than that? Are there extra fees I would assume?

From my experience, you will get the best deal about a week prior to ariving. I prefer to book through the rental agency, rather than through hotwire, because you can book a standard and often get upgraded to whatever you want. I usually use enterprise at the airport facility. Last trip I got a Mustang convertable for $75 for 3 days, tax included, and at the end they even threw in gas for free. Hey, it never hurts to ask.

I ended up renting a midsize through advantage for $77 for 3 days (april 21-24) including all fees. That's the best I could find so far.

I have never rented from Advantage. Are they at the car rental center also? Any one ever had any problems renting from them? Our last 3 rentals were alamo and avis, no problems just very long wait in line at the counter. We were going to do the pre pay sign up and paper work this time. How was your experience doing that?

There shouldn't be any problems there. I just looked it up and the rate wasn't too bad, I will keep checking.

Hitchhiker, did you use any codes/discounts for that Alamo rate? I have a 3-day with Alamo at the end of April, costing me around $90. Not staying over a Sat night, which I know might hurt my price.
