PH Towers by Westgate Las Vegas

If anyone has stayed in the one bedroom suite at PH Towers, pls give me some reviews. Like is there a separate living and bedroom area (separated by a door) Is there a separate shower? not a tub/shower combo.

I have seen horrible reviews, but unfortunately have already booked a non-refundable stay. I have 2 small kids with me and really hope that they have got their act together by May.

www.youtube.com has a few videof the rooms at PH towers.

I am sure they just had some opening kinks becuase they probably rushed to open by a certain date.

Have a good trip.

Raquelle, I wouldn't worry. I think the 1 and 2 bedroom suites here are really second to none. I took a tour in November and wow, they are superb, state of the art rooms.

Yes, it is a true 1 bedroom suite, with a door and everything. As 2112 mentioned, there are some vids on youtube. The author of them is karlawithak. They pretty much show you everything. As far as the reviews, just opening day jitters and by May, it'll be dope.

Enjoy.

Something I found on Expedia.

A really great stay!

We visit Vegas often, since we live in So. Cal., and have stayed at most of the big hotels, condos and time shares, although we had never stayed at The Planet Hollywood hotel before. When I found fantastic rates for their new time share condos (a portion of the condos are used as hotel type rentals), I jumped on them. We had a wonderful experience. The valet, front desk staff and housekeeping were helpful and happy to accomodate us. The condo was spotless (being brand new didn’t hurt!) and made for fun. We really enjoyed the layout and all the amenities. We asked for the best view possible, and recieved a room with a full view of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel. At night, it was stunning! If I had to think of one negative, I would agree with other reviews that getting in and out of the hotel can be a bit time consuming, having to go through the mall from the casino. You can enter and leave easily via the valet, but if you want to walk it IS a bit of a trek. We still enjoyed having the mall and restaurants available on premises though!

Thanks for the review! I'm staying there in 3 weeks, can't wait (!) but was concerned about some negative reviews on the stay--wasn't sure if ppl were being honest or what. This is truely helpful! Thanks much!

Just got back from 3 days in Vegas. Stayed at the PH Towers. Would definitely stay there again. Great location, great room, very clean. Customer service is highliy lacking (nothing that truly bothered me, but would have other people). You will be just fine!

We are also staying at PH Towers, I booked a 1 bedroom king suite because of all the positive reviews I saw. The facilities look fantastic, I like the idea it has a kitchen, the location is perfect, no extra 'resort' fees, & free use of fitness centre - which looks well set up with lots of equipment & freeweights.

We are looking forward to staying there. I did note there were a number of bad reviews in the last couple of weeks, sprinkled amongst the positive ones.

Hoping both our stays are happy & positive :)

Well I'm back and finally had time to jot this down. I finally stayed in my timeshare at the PH Towers and it was a mess! Thanks in advance for reading it and your time.

Day 1 - So we check in and as we head to the elevator, some concierge-like guy (let's call him James) comes over to introduce himself. Turns out, he was “assigned” to me since I’m a owner. James says he didn't know when we were arriving and he was already showing another owner around but has a welcome packet & things he wanted to talk to me about as a first time owner/first time stay. He gave me his number, said if I need anything or if anything's wrong to give him a call, so I was like, ok, that's fine, go do your thing and shrugged it off.

We head to the room and it didn't look like what I thought I bought. I was sooo disappointed. My family thinks now, more than ever, I made a huge mistake. I mean, this room was smaller than a typical room w/two queen beds. It was your basic hotel room with a separate bedroom, one couch, flat screen tv, and kitchenette. The one I thought I bought had a separate bedroom but also a full kitchen, dining table for 6, washer/dryer and projector tv, to say the least. Ok fine, they put me in here, I'll deal since it was a mistake to buy a timeshare that I couldn't afford anyways.

End of day 1, we called housekeeping for two blankets, waited for more than an hour, called again and finally got them. Garbage begins to pile up.

Day 2 - About to head out for the day, so I called housekeeping to clean the room: they said they only clean rooms of owners on the 4th day. Um, I’m a partial owner which means I only have this for 4 days! By day 4, I'm checking out. STUPID RULE. So we head out for the day and James calls me to ask how is everything and how's the projector? I said, what projector? He sounded surprised and says something's not right, that he’s going to check on it and get back to me and that we should meet on day 3 at 1pm. Ok, appointment set, see you tomorrow. Garbage is piling up more.

Almost the end of day 2, we called housekeeping for toilet paper before 8pm. Called again for it after 9pm, housekeeping said they'd put a "rush" on it and still, no TP. We didn't get TP til after 10; we got one roll. RIDICULOUS!!!

Day 3 - James shows up at the room and come to find out, I was placed into the wrong room. Mind you, we check out 24hrs from this point. So he and I head to front desk while he's telling me that [he and I] will file a formal complaint "tomorrow" (that's day 4) about this error; then he tells me that I should have called him about the wrong room. Um, I made my reservation, trusted you people to do your job! How should I know I was placed in the wrong room?? How would I know something is wrong??

I bought it preconstruction and since it didn't open on time, that it seemed like a scam, then I get a room that doesn’t even look like the model I was shown at purchase time so how was I suppose to know of the screw up?? So front desk figures out the mix up but they are all sold out. James is trying to get me into a room I paid for as an owner and this front desk idiot (no.1) is telling me they are "sold out, housekeeping is behind since they only have 50 housekeepers, and that they've been really busy" ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME??? I'm less than 24hrs from checkout, I got screwed and you’re telling you’re understaffed??? Not my problem your housekeepers are behind and that your reservations screwed me over and that front desk didn't catch it!!!! I'm already pissed to learn of the screw up and that there’s less than 24hrs left of my trip. So front desk concludes that check out time is 4p and probably by then, there's a room available since all available rooms are getting cleaned at this time; said they'll call me when one is available. James says let’s meet tomorrow at 9am to do a first time stay survey and the formal complaint. At this point, I’m ready to get the heck out of here but fine, appointment set, see you tomorrow for more BS!

So while wait for a possible room to switch to, my family and I go elsewhere and return after 4pm...I wait til 530 in the WRONG room and no one is calling me that a room is available. So I go to front desk and ask if there's room available and some other front desk person (idiot no. 2) tells me I'm in the correct room so I'm thinking, WTF????!!! I check w/guest services to figure this out and they go to tell front desk of the error and tells me which room is available. FINALLY, I get to show the family the real room I thought I purchased and it's lovely, just like I thought that I saw in the model in 2008. Whoopiee, less than 24hrs left in vegas in the actual timeshare I purchased.

Day 4 - Last and final day, I'm meeting James at 9am for an exit survey and to file a formal complaint. The survey & complaint is total BS. Simply "check this box" on what you thought of the mall, eateries, customer service, etc. He notes the housekeeping issues, the rudeness and unprofessionalism of front desk idiots, and the mix up on the room. Then he's apologizing profusely about the mix up but also explains their politics, management issues, etc, and then we talk about the timeshare, how much I owed, paid, percentage rate, and how he can make the percentage rate better.

In comes the finance guy so they geared up with ammo and the SALES PITCHES begin...so my payments have been on time but the percentage rate is high and they can offer me a better rate...well, the rate included an addition to the existing property I'm currently paying off, as well as lower monthly payments and percentage rates, extra stays in a bigger room that would require a one time fee and maintenance for that year, and/or this and/or that. Sounds great right???

So I’m absorbing all their crap and thinking, I am half way done paying it off and you want to offer me another deal on top of the existing??? What about the crappy mix up on the rooms during my current stay? I lost 3 days in the wrong room!!!! With that said, the finance guy offers and offers deals on top of deals and still, I keep saying no thanks, totally appreciate your efforts, the deals, etc, but still don't want to invest any more into this b/c after I signed on the dotted line, paid the first deposit, and hopped on the plane home, I realized what a huge error but hey, I owned up to it, allowed myself one giant money mistake, and then calculated a quicker payment plan, I did the math and is paying double so it'll be paid off in another year. (Lord help me that I did the calculation right.)

So for more ammo, they pulled my file out, showed me the payment plan I was on, emphasizing the % rate and sales pitched me every which way, up to 6 offers. One was really good. I listed many positives and barely a handful of negatives and still, I remained strong and said no! Ok, James walks away and some Daniel dude w/horrible fast English pitches me something else while scribbling his deal on the back of the survey. He barely made eye contact. After his schpiel, he goes: is this something you'd be interested in? I said no and not a split second later, he goes, "ok, thanks for taking the time to listen," signs the survey to note that he's spoken to me about his deal and walks away. James returns...the man is relentless, thinks there's got to be some "reason why the greatest deal offered" (ie. knocking off another year or two on payment, dropping several percentage points, even down to zero percentage rates) and I still say no. He looks at me, asks what's the real reason??? Does it have to do with the wrong room situation? Would I take the best deal had I been placed in the correct room? What would have happened if I had been placed in the correct room? I said basically, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now and that I would still continue to pay my % rate and monthly payment; that I want my time in the correct room that I bought, BACK. He gives me some mild sarcastic remark like, "in a perfect world, if only he could fix the error....so to save face, he said he'll take us to lunch and drive us to airport to make up for it. Then says he'll be right back and while he's gone, I'm thinking that I'm going crazy b/c it’s a great deal! How can you turn down a lower percentage rate, lower payments and a second bedroom??? So he returns and I said, thank you for your efforts but no thank you. I was way too nice!!! I then told him, I don't want lunch or a ride to the airport, I just want you to give me my weekend back in the correct timeshare I bought. And of course, he has no power to do that. So with that said, the most I got was an extra 3 hours to check out instead of the usual 11am check out time and a handful of verbal "sorrys" .... and pitch after pitch….

I head back to the room to finish packing and here's the best part, one of us uses the bathroom right before we leave the room to check out and the toilet handle's broken! HAHAHA! We call concierge b/c housekeeping and front desk doesn't answer and they said they'll send someone up to fix it. Ok....let see how long this will take...Toilet Man magicially appears in 5-10mins, says it takes 4 flushes to fully flush it and that it's something he's seen throughout the hotel b/c of energy efficiency and being more “green”...big money poured into saving money on toilets that don't flush right and all the while, water is being wasted on every flush. Really smart, idiots!

We finally check out b/c I was sooo done with this crap of an investment.

Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful place, the investment is a real estate investment of prime location and even my family like the room we finally got to see and use but the mix up just soured the first stay. I own it, so I will use it since I go annually but if ou have the opportunity to not invest, don’t, it’s a waste of time and money.

I know I should have said something was wrong but I bought it preconstruction and the model I saw upon purchase, I thought, it was a scam to begin with so I’ll just make the best of it. My mistake.

Too funny that you would call this Timeshare an investment.

Thanks for the detailed review

would you reccommend to stay in it as a hotel? in the 1 or 2 bedroom suites...did you use the jacuzzi and projector?

Thanks
