Recommendations - treating brother who is ill

Okay. My 46 year old brother has cancer and for now is well all things considered. I would like to treat him and myself to 2 nights in Vegas. There is so much info I don't know where to begin. Any advice is appreciated as I am looking for the best bang for my buck.

We will be there 4/11-4/13.

Would like to stay on Strip as figure hotel rates should be decent in nicer hotels.

Looking for 2 separate rooms or suite that has 2 bedrooms.

Any deals we may not be aware of like signing up for players clubs etc.

As I am paying for the hotel really looking at spending no than $250 for both of us..

Do no want hotel that is family oriented - sorry we both have no children.

Just any advice is appreciated..We could also stay downtown as well but thought you guys might know of hotel deals we don't

Thanks..

I have been many years ago..

Check out smartervegas.com. Gives the promo's that strip hotels are running. Try Ballys, Bills, Flamingo, MGM and Monte Carlo. These are all decent midrange properties that will fill your needs.

This sounds like a great trip and I appluad you for wanting to treat him to some fun.

Lots of places on the strip will meet your needs.

The best bet would be to do some checking with rates and dates and then post on here what you found. then we can possibly help you in making your choice.

I would suggest getting 2 seperate rooms becuase it opens a much broader spectrum for you and it will most likely be cheaper.

Try Harrahs.com for current promotions. Sunday to Tuesday should be cheap, but for some reason that date is higher. For 2 rooms for 2 nights, you may have to look downtown to stay under $250. Why not 1 room with 2 beds to save some $$'s?

You're a good brother. I agree about the rooming double up - save some $ for entertainment and spend more time together.

Cheapest I saw quick glance was $71/nite @ Bill's which would be good. Don't know your bro's stamina but Bill's is a smaller hotel with easy access in/out and to rooms so he wouldn't have to walk far. Great center strip location near places you'll want to go. Can use Flamingo's pool free if interested. Bill's has some decent eating options and there are plenty of spots around it.

Mentioning downtown, El Cortez is $21 and is a decent hotel/casino. Of course, the Golden Nugget is considered to be the best place downtown and it is $59. Main Street Station is good @ $45 with Fitzgeralds and 4 Queens @ $27 & $29 are decent too. Downtown is so compact it would be very easy to casino hop down there without much effort. Could still stay on the strip and take the bus north to downtown for a night out though.

If you're looking for player's club promos, go to advantageplayer.com.

I hope you guys have a great trip.

What a lovely idea. Some of the hotels run special offers on Twitter or Facebook on Tuesdays or Thursdays e.g. Luxor (don't recommend), MGM and Caesar's Palace.

CP also has special offers on there for their spa, Qua - complete relaxation in a beautiful setting.

I am with Quaffed above- suitable luxury, and great location. I would call Caesars directly (or send them an email) tell them your situation and your budget and I bet they will do something for you.

I agree with the above posts about sharing a room, it will save you $. you could also try Planet Hollywood, they have nice size rooms and you could request a view over looking the Ballagio fountins. Also it's mid strip, so easy to get around. Your best bet would be to try the hotel websites as this is where you will find any offers they have.

Like one of previous posts mentioned, you should email the hotels and tell them your situation and see what they can offer you.

I would say stay on the Strip rather than downtown for your brother's first visit. I'd forget about getting a 2-bedroom suite within your budget.

For such a short stay central location really makes a difference. You might look at Paris.
