Thanks for posting this.Were going in aug./sep. and will be going to visit RIO and PALMS for the first time.In my head it was just down the road from the strip,but after looking at the photo I see its a pretty good hike.Thanks again :)

And it sure looks as if the Palms and the Rio are not quite as close together to each other as I thought, either. Great photo.

They aren't that far apart. If you leave the Rio using the door near the buffet, cross Valley View (no need to go to a light- very little traffic), cut through the GC garage and casino, exit near the player's club, cross Flamingo Road (you do need to go to the light)- you will be at the Palms- 5/10 mintues- depending how long you have to wait at the Flamingo light. I have done it hundreds of times.
