Downtown Vegas

Hi Guys

* of us staying downtown, most of us for the first time! Have been looking at places to eat and drink and it seems as if main street station, firefly and magnolia's in the 4 queens get good reviews. Anyone have any other suggestions?? Not looking for mega bucks places but reasonably priced food and drink (happy hours welcome!!)

Hugo's Cellar is very nice. The salad cart and chocolate covered fruit are included in the meal so you may not want to order appetizers or dessert.

El Cortez has a 2-4-1 Martini Happy Hour at the Piano bar and the Flame Steakhouse which is reasonably priced and delicious!! Fitzgeralds has a place called the Vue bar that has good appetizers and a great balcony to sit at and watch all the action below on Fremont. Also, the Triple 7 Brewpub at the Mainstreet Station has great food and some of the best craft brew in town. Enjoy!!

I totally agree with acsmacan. I love the Flame and the Martini Bar right next door. I also have done drinks at the Vue bar.

Hennessy's on Fremont has a happy hour every day and an open mike night on Wed.

Then there is also happy hour at Micky Finnz www.mickiefinnzlasvegas.com/promotions.html

The Firefly that you mentioned also has a happy hour.

Don't forget Golddiggers at the GN for drinking and partying later at night.

Have fun!

Another vote for Triple 7 (well you already mentioned Main Street). And I also love the Flame steakhouse at El Co. Also love shrimp cocktails at Golden Gate deli.

Magnolia's at the Four Queens has some really good cheap eats & lots of coupons are always floating around for buy one get one free lunches or dinners.

Look at Restaurants.com for certificates for Mickey Finz and Hennessey's. Can't wait to hit Mickey Finz for their shrimp bucket!

The Fremont Hotel bars have Heineken and Coronas for $2 all the time and also $1 margaritas. Their buffet is very good also.

I like Benny's Bullpen in Binions which is located at the back of the casinos. They have happy hour specials and well as good food specials. I also enjoy Binions Snack Bar.

The Chicago Brewing Co. inside the Four Queens has some pretty good micro brews and I love their pizza lunch special, huge slice with a pint for $4.

gymjudge, I thought I was the only one touting the greatness of Mickie Finnz on this site. Glad to see another person. Love the shrimp bucket too but the Ahi Poke is even better. Great place for a few beers and some good food.

Also at the El Cortez, is the Cafe Cortez, which has good, reasonable coffee shop food, on a par with Magnolias, price wise and quality wise.

The Fremont also offers a buffet, which has 2-4-1 coupons for meals there ... The Paradise Buffet. I've not eaten at Tony Roma's in the Fremont, but I've heard good things about it.

Fitzgeralds also has a coffee shop type restaurant, that offers great breakfast specials... $1.99 for 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast, or 3 pancakes for $1.99. I have not eaten at other meals there, but i've heard the quality has improved greatly at the Courtyard Grill, on the Second Floor.

And finally, Market Street Cafe in the California also has good food, at very reasonable prices, and... its open 24 hours a day. Magnolias is the only other restaurant Downtown staying open round the clock...

There are plenty of places for you to get a nice selection of food at reasonable prices.... I forgot to mention Tinoko's Kitchen in the Las Vegas Club. He is a known Las Vegas chef, and... offers a great lunch special every day for $9.99. You will love the ambiance of this place. Also around the corner... he has his "economy foods", where you can get tacos or some other meals for under $6.
