Trip plan for next week - need some input please :)

I'm staying at the Flamingo and have Wednesday night (4/14), all day Thursday (4/15) and Friday (4/16) to explore Las Vegas on my own until my friends come late Friday night...I'm also checking into the Monte Carlo on Friday for the duration of my trip...here's my "itinerary" so far (keep in mind that I'm not renting a car...any advice on what else to do/see?

*I've read a lot of forums and was planning on going to the Grand Canyon on Thursday but think it's too long of a trip for me (i get motion sickness only in cars/vans)*

Wed- fly in around 7p

possible dinner at caesars palace @ bradley ogden or mesa grill (im looking for places that have bars to sit at and eat)

see the bellagio fountains

hang in one of the casinos

Thurs-

lay by Flamingo Pool

night: see cirque du soleil - KA

Fri-

checkout Flamingo/checkin Monte Carlo

head to Freemont street in the afternoon and spend the day there

night: meet friends

How are the flamingo and monte carlo pools? Any specifics on when the sun isn't there? I read on one of the forums that the Flamingo doesn't get sun until 1pm??

I've been to vegas once before and stayed at Mandalay Bay, which I loved but don't really need to go back there...

How's the big Elvis show at Bill's Gamblin Hall, Rita Rudner show, Carrot Top??

Other "must sees" down by Freemont street (never been down there)?

For me, Fremont Street (Only one "e") is something best done at night. Especially for a first time visit.

Do Downtown at night so you can see the light show. Big Elvis is a good afternoon show to see by yourself.

If you want to see the Grand Canyon go by air.

ACGambler is right...do Fremont St. at night and Gr. Canyon by air.

Caesar's pool looks good although I never have gone swimming in there.

The Wynn pool looked the best.

The Flamingo is very centrally located on the strip and is one of the stops on the monorail that runs from the MGM Grand to the Sahara. That makes it easy to get to your cirque Du Soleil show. You can also catch the Duece (double decker bus that runs to Fremont Street) at the corner. As previously noted, Fremont Street is best done at night. That's when the light and sound show is (it starts at dusk) and also the outdoor enterainment.

Try and see some flair bartenders. Carnival Court has them, and I am sure others on here know where there are more. Def entertaining and fun, even by yourself.

The Flamingo pool is great. We usually use the "Adult" only one. If you want sun, move as far away from the hotel as possible (for morning sun). Enjoy!

Hey Albany...greetings from Queensbury!

We just got back and were amazed by the people by the pool. It was freezing and windy!!! But hopefully it will warm up for you enough to lay out by the time you get there.

Ditto on Fremont at night........Light show, grab a slushie and watch/listen to Carl Ferris' "Safe Sax" under the canopy between gambling stints. He's a phenomenal musician and scheduled for 7-11 pm every night in Apr. I stay on the strip but always try to go downtown for at least one night to take in that atmosphere and listen to the great music.

Thanks everyone - I'll definitely be changing my plans for Fremont to nighttime...

I read about a Casino called Mermaids that had Football shaped plastic containers for beers...anyone ever have one? I think I may need to try!

I've had the football - it's a fun idea, but it was so big that the beer was warm and flat by the time I finished it. If you are a fast drinker - go for it.
