Unhappy with Travelocity booking to Vegas.

First of all let me say I GOOFED.Booked with Travelocity for a trip to vegas staying at the Venetian from May 25th-29th.Now it clearly states on the booking 5day 4night vacation with the 4th night free and in my excitement at booking and looking at everything closely I thought as it was my first time booking a trip online,I obviously did not notice our time of departure until it was too late our flight leaves at 1.45am on the 29th which means we probably will have to book out of the hotel and spend our free 4th night travelling home.I guess in the travel industry anytime past midnight is considered another day.I did call them probably about 5mins after booking to see if I could arrange a later flight and of course there is nothing they can do about it other than cancel and from a $1260 trip they would refund me only $534 not bad odds on their part for about 5mins work.I am quite mad at myself for not noticing the departure time before booking as the trip is to celebrate A Special Time in our lives. but for the life of me I cannot see how they can call this a 5 day four night trip and getting the 4th night free when I won't even be there..Anyone else ever have this kind of problem

It is the Airlines that is your problem not Travelocity directly, they will not let you cancel the flight,Travelocity is most likely refunding you the hotel potion

of your trip and there is nothing they can do about the flights

We have always had great results from Travelocity. Their prices have beat down other sites. Most sites and companies will charge you for changing a flight. Go and have fun anyway.

I'm not sure if I am getting this right. Did you book a package with travelocity, or did you book air and hotel separately? Did you call travelocity to make the change and they can only offer less than 1/2 you paid for a refund? Am I getting this right?

Do you have a separate reservation # for the air portion? One thing you can try is to call the airline directly with that reservation # (not the travelocity trip ID) and see how much they charge you to change the return flight. It may or may not work, but won't hurt to try.

I booked with Travelocity and changed my flights yesterday. It cost about $500 for 3 tickets. I called the airline directly and it was no problem. If you call close to when you booked it probably won't cost that much...a change fee and the difference in flights.

yeah, call the airline directly. A lot of times they have a fee for moving a flight, but thats the price you pay for not paying attention to all the package details. I cant imagine booking something on line and not knowing what the flight times are. Hopefully someone else will learn from this.

I know Continental has a 24 hour cancellation policy with no charge but it is not Travelocity's fault.

I also suggest you deal with the airline directly on this. Travel websites usually suggest a particular flight with a package and then if you don't like the time, you have the option of browsing and selecting another flight, often at a different price.

It's natural to feel frustrated but Travelocity is not making $730.00 off this at all. They already bought the ticket on your behalf?

Try the airline. Hope it works out for you!

i always look on these site for best deals then book seperatley on my own for just those reasons

i know at like orleans gold cost etc if yo ufind a cheaper price on line you just call them tell them what you find they look it up and then offer it to you

ok step 1 one done so now i deal with hotel directly which is also nice because then with play they can sometimes comp you your room etc, but if you book on a travel site the casino hotel can not

on flights i know when you book thats that but i did a mistake on airtran and called them right away they did not want to return charge card booking but then when i insisted on talking to supervisor they did

with southwest if they dont refund for you they at least give you a credit toward next flight so it would have been ok

so in my past experience i like doing everything on my own for just your reasons that happened.

unless it is a really spectacular deal in a package i would never do it, and probally even with the good deal i would not do it. to much pain in the but if something needs changing, canceling, etc

Yes you are getting it right,I booked it as a package deal, someone just said it is the airline causing the problem.I just may take your advice and try talking with the airline I believe it is booked through United but we are travelling back on Delta have to check who I should be calling.Thanks.

I can't see how Travelocity can advertise that as a 4 night vacation.
