Downtown Parking or Ace Bus or Cab?

We will have a car on our visit to las Vegas--we are staying at the MGM Signature, but will be visiting downtown for dinner and the FSE one evening. Is it simpler to leave the car at the hotel and take the Ace bus or a cab downtown, or just as easy to drive/park? I understand parking is not free downtown--is this correct? Thanks in advance.

I think the GN is the only hotel DT that charges for parking for non-guests.

I park at MSS when I drive Downtown. I take the Deuce when I plan on drinking.

If drinking is not an issue, just driver there and park. There is also a FSE parking garage, but I don't know if there is a charge there.

It's easy to drive & park, we usually park at Plaza or MSS and have the ticket validated or get a refund with the receipt. But like Mailgirl said, we don't drive there when we know we'll be drinking.

You can take the ACE from MGM, bus would be cheaprer but cab would be the quickest. Depending on how quickly you want to get there.

We parked at Binion's last time I drove DT. They validate at the casino cage, so I don't believe it ended up costing us anything.

I can't imagine going downtown from the strip and not having a couple of pops while gambling. This negates any driving for me.

If you are non-drinkers, then no problem. If you even think about having a drink, take the ACE. It's pretty quick and a lot cheaper than cabs.

I'm surprised to hear the Golden Nugget charges for parking. It's been a few years, but they did not used to charge.

Just like on the Strip most of the downtown casinos have valet and self park. Most require you to validate your ticket at the casino cage if you self park, but that's not a big deal.

The ACE leaves from right outside the MGM and stops in downtown. It is easy and might be worth it one way. Obviously if you are worried about paying for parking you don't want to spend the money on a cab... I bought a 24hr pass for the ACE/Deuce for $7 and used it a ton to bypass walking various sections and to get me to the town square mall, which is pretty good.
