Sorry... a Bloody Mary is not a Caesar!

Traditional Caesar = Clamato Juice, Vodka, Rim-It, Celery, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco.

Bloody Mary = Tomator Juice, Vodka, Worcestershire sauce.

The Caesar is a far superior version.... and a great morning drink!

I hope it catches on in Vegas!

Most of us are aware of this--and I have often heard Caesars ordered in Vegas successfully....

Sry, I prefer a Bloody Mary so I see that as superior...very subjective...

Not sure the purpose of your post :-)

If that's the way you've had your Bloody Mary's made it's no wonder you're not impressed. I've had the Caesar and it is tasty, though!

Bloody Mary recipe courtesy of the New York School of Bartending:

* 1 oz. to 1½ oz. (30-45 ml) vodka in a Highball glass filled with ice.

* Fill glass with tomato juice

* 1 dash celery salt

* 1 dash ground black pepper

* 1 dash Tabasco

* 2-4 dashes of Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire sauce

* 1/8 tsp. horseradish (pure, never creamed)

* Dash of lemon or lime juice

Garnish with celery stalk.

They're really more like two seperate drinks rather than different versions of one.

Enjoy whichever you like. Saying either is superior is a little futile as it's a question of personal taste.

I'll take either one!! But I really like mine made with Absolut Peppar- gives it a nice little punch of flavor. A couple of stuffed olives dont hurt either! ;)

On our "quest for the best Bloody Mary" about two months ago, Aria's VP bar was by far the winner, followed by the 2-for-1's (I think this is pretty much all the time) at Raffles Cafe at Mandalay Bay.

Sorry all, I live in Calgary which is where the Caesar was created back in the 60's so I am definitely givein my vote to the Caesar, IMHO it's better and much tastier than a BM. cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/2009/05/13/blood…

I'm not saying BM's are terrible, it's just that I much prefer the Caesar.

By the way, there are many tasty variations on the Caesar, some come with a pickled asparagus or a pickled bean for the garnish rather than the traditional celery stick and lime. I've also seen the addition of shrimp and olives, and even horseradish.

In any case this is really just a matter of opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

If you come to Canada you will find that the Caesar is definitely the more common drink of choice between the two. Most people don't drink BM's up here.

Bloody Mary over Caesars, definitely.

Love tomato juice and horseradish; don't like clamato, yuck!

To each their own.
