Which hotel for first trip to Vegas, in centre of it all?

Hi. I am looking at Las Vegas hotels for myself and my hubby for a 4 night holiday flying out of Buffalo. I am so confused, there are so many hotels to choose from how do I choose one? We'd like to be in the centre of all the action. Our budget is around $1000 for flight+hotel. Then I am reading all the reviews of the hotels and also all the different styles of room choices and their prices vary. Help! Thanks.

Your total budget is 1000 or your budget each is 1000? Will help the posters help!

Can you give us the days/dates? Sun-Thursday will be cheaper than Fri-Sat.

To help us recommend a hotel for you, you might want to answer a few questions: Age range? Do you hang out at the pool? Do you need a view? Just tell us what you are looking for besides the cost. Thanks.

Sorry I should be more specific. A total of about $1000 for the 2 of us, and we are looking at going on a Sunday-Thursday.

We are 35 years of age, we like to relax by the pool, but also do sightseeing and attractions.

Look at Mirage, it is center Strip.

Also, a lot will depend on your airfare. You said you want to spend a total of $1000 but we don't know how much of that will be air.

You could also stay at MGM which is not center Strip but not a bad location.

Monte Carlo is a nice property, what I hear its a nice pool, and a free tram takes you to Bellagio which is in the center of everything IMHO. Or Paris, which is right across the street from Bellagio and can be around the same price range as MC.

When are you looking to go?

I second the Mirage recommendation, love the pool there! May be tough to get that low depending on your airfare costs.

Also, check Flamingo. I haven't stayed there, but the pool gets good reviews, and it has affordable rates. Try for a Go room.

Or, you can always crash the Caesars pool. :) LOL

Thanks for your replies. I am gearing towards the Mirage or Treasure Island. They are both fairly affordable and in the heart of the action!

Center of the action...Flamingo GO room. Reasonable about dead center of the Strip. Nice pool area.

Other choices - Mirage, Paris, Planet Hollywood

For a couple listed the pool isn't that great but you haven't said when your planning to go
