What is wrong with Harrah's

I see alot of people bad mouth Harrah's. I personally never had a proplem with them. Of course I know alot of people like to jump on the bandwagon by bashing them, They always take care of their players with free rooms with low play. M.G.M. property's took me forever to get comp rooms from them with similar play. I never had a problem with there customer service. They are a organization that does cater to the working class. They don't charge resort fees. The only grip I have with them is the 6-5 blackjack. But overall they been good to me. Whatcha think?

I don't know yet but I will soon let you know. I have stayed at MGM properties in the past and I have gambled quite a bit. I am not a high roller but I am far from a low roller. I have not even come close to being comped with MGM. I don't play for comps, but as much as I love Vegas it would be refreshing to be comped for my play. I am staying at a harrah's property the last week of August and plan on playing quite a bit of black jack and poker. I don't give a crap about the black jack payouts because I know that double downs and splits pay out more than the occasional blackjack. I am staying at a low end Harrah's property but I plan on playing mostly at the Flamingo and Bally's. Looking forward to answering your question soon.

I don't love Harrah's, but I play at their casinos in Atlantic City (which is only a three-hour drive for me), and overall, I'm a fairly satisfied customer. I think I get decent comps from them for my low bankroll, and that makes a big difference to me.

We all have our own tastes, preferences, and budgets, and I don't expect Harrah's, or any other company, to be great for everyone. Still, it does seem the Harrah's bashing is overblown -- including the warnings about 6:5 blackjack. If I only read this forum, I woud think all Harrah's blackjack tables are 6:5. But in a few years of playing blackjack at Harrah's properties in both Vegas and Atlantic City, I think I've seen two shoe games that were 6:5. I haven't been to every Harrah's property or taken inventory of every table, so I suppose it's possible I've just missed all the 6:5. But I assume the people who spread the 6:5 myth are just repeating what they hear and haven't actually been inside a Harrah's casino in a while.

I have a gripe with them. Last November I booked a bunch of petite suites with them for a family gathering and almost all the rooms had issues with the air conditioning/ventilation. They all made a loud "howling" sound, I called their maintenance and the person came up and said they already knew about this issue but didn't have a solution. He mumbled something about how the buildings were joined and the size of the units needed. I asked them if they tried using sound dampeners and his eyes opened wide like it was a revelation. I'm not an engineer but my brothers are.

Harrahs should not be renting rooms with known issues like that.

HET rocks as far as I'm concerned. They always treat their players well. Your comps and offers are up front, unlike MGM which keeps you guessing what comps you earned. They have nice casinos spread out across the US. As a matter of fact, over the last 6 weeks we have stayed in all three of the Caesars Palaces--Vegas, Atlantic City, and Windsor, all comp'd. We stay at MGM and Venetian properties in Vegas, but we get the most entertainment value with Harrahs--we also like their cruises with Norwegian. I am a Platinum level player while my DW is Diamond...you don't have to be a high roller to enjoy free rooms, food discounts, free play and free shows.

No compliants here!

I'm not sure you can compare HET offering free rooms at IP with MGM offering free rooms at MGM or MC. You raise a good point though I wonder why MGM doesn't offer more free rooms to low rollers at places like Circus or Excalibur? Do they really fill Circus up with British tourists? I would think offering free rooms at Circus to people playing 5-10 hours on quarter slots would at least get them to come to Las Vegas more.

If comped rooms at IP were ALL Harrahs offered "low rollers" your comparison would be valid. However, with the exception of Caeser's, I typically ahve my choice of Harrahs properties comped when I visit Vegas. I spread my gambling dollars around some, but ahev yet to get anything aside from a "reduced rate" offer from MGM, whereas Harrahs and even the Venetian comp me rooms on a regular basis. Its not hard to see where I book.....

You are asking specifically about Harrah's hotel. I have stayed at Harrahs twice in the past two years both times on a comp and thought the rooms were fine. Last year we had to move to another property; not my choice but my husband's. We were there working and needed more room to spread out, the desk claimed they had nothing else though we offered to pay. Some of Harrah's rooms are definitely better than others. Which ones I do not know. The rooms overlooking the pool are extra noisy. Some are older and do not have the updated T.V.s. I would like to see from our fellow posters which rooms to ask for. I will be staying there in a couple of weeks on a comp.

I like HET comp system....your point balance shows up when you insert your card, and the points are easily used at restaurants, gift shops, etc.

I am Platinum, and usually have my choice of all of their hotels except Caesar's when booking free rooms.

Their customer service is usually always outstanding. I have had a few issues, but for the amount of time I stay with them, it is pretty rare.

I like HET very much. They give good comps for a minimal amount of play. I also like playing in most of their casinos.
