Venetian or Signature MGM

My husband and I are flying in from Australia in October for 6 nights 1st timers to LV. I think I have read every review here and now I'm getting confused.

I think I have narrowed it down to a luxury king suite at the Venetian for a bit of pampering and closer to the strip, or a 1 bedroom king suite at the signiture. The pool area is very important to me well us :) and also shopping rest/clubs and the strip... I love the bigger suites at Signature and the fact they have jet baths to relax in after all that walking. My hubby is worried Sig is too far off strip to really experience Vegas. What do you think??? Thanks

Flying all that way? First trip? Easy choice for the V. The Sig is great when you've been a few times and want a peacful oasis to retreat to. Not a first trip kind of place. Besides, unless you really need a huge multiroom apartment, the room at the V should be more than enough.

We have been to both. Both locations offer good access to other casinos. The Venetian takes a while to get from your room to another casino as does the Signature. If swimming is important both have nice pool areas. Signature may win with access to MGM pools in October. The Signature has a kitchen and full size fridge. We have found this nice to have along with all the extra room. The plus to the Venetian your go down an elevator and your in business. Both are great choices I would go with price if their is a big difference.

As it's your first visit to Vegas and there are just two of you, I would definitely pick the Venetian. It will give you a proper Vegas experience, which is presumably a big reason for going there? The Signature is very nice but it's a non-casino property - more like a huge, upmarket apartment complex than one of the casino hotels Vegas is famous for. It's a great choice if you are travelling with children, or want to prepare some of your meals yourself, or are in Vegas for a long time and want to be able to get away from it all some of the time, but for a couple visiting Vegas for the first time, I think you'll get much more enjoyment from the Venetian.

Another vote for the V. As you're first timers it's a no brainer in my opinion.

Thanks for your replies, It's sounding like the Venetian is a clear winner!

Now to find a decent deal...... Any suggestions? as time goes by prices seem to be increasing. Some websites offer a Luxury king suite and for a couple of hundred bucks more you can book a Luxury king view suite. Is there any real gaurentees you will get that view you paid for or should I just book the room and ask for the view on arrival.

I don't know if I should have started a new topic or what??? Anyhow see how it goes ;)

IIRC, the Venetian actually classifies some rooms as "View" -- like Venetian Luxury View, so if that is the room you booked, you should be guaranteed to have some sort of view.

But I thought the "view" rooms were only about $30-40 more a night, not "hundreds of bucks" but maybe that depends on the date and demand. I doubt they give those "view" rooms away on a free upgrade, but it never hurts to ask on check in.

FYI -- the "luxury suite" is the cheapest most basic room offered at the Venetian, but it's about as good as it gets for a "standard" hotel room.

"Signature may win with access to MGM pools in October."

Except that the MGM pools are not all open in October---including the lazy river, which is why we don't stay there in April or October.

I agree with the others, Venetian is a much better choice for your first trip.
