Whats it usually take to get a meal comped?

If you're playing a game like craps, I know it will vary by casino, I would just like an idea, especially at the lower end places on the stripe.

Just one example:

15000 credits gets you 150 comp at the Range Harrahs

$5 ($5.50 in Canada) coin-in on reel slot machine = one Base Reward Credit

$10 ($11.00 in Canada) coin-in on Video Poker = one Base Reward Credit

For table games and other game types, you will earn Base Reward Credits based on your length of play, average bet and the type of game

$5 ($5.50 in Canada) in entertainment spend = one Base Reward Credit

Doing the math on slots 5x15000=75000 dollars coin in.

Moral of the story- don't play for comps ;) I think it's easier to get free/reduced rate nights. My parents have been getting those for years and btwn the 2 of them they gamble under 1K each trip total. This is at orleans. They go to vegas a minimum of 3 times per year and haven't paid for a room in a very long time. Other higher end hotels are harder to get but deals are in abundance at reduced rates for even mid tier hotels like MGM.

One time I drew the dice and accidentially knocked over a man's stack of chips he had out as a bet. He yelled at me--a lot. The pit boss gave me a comp for dinner at Binions. You probably won't want to get a free meal that way!

For table games, the general rule of thumb on the strip is a minimum bet of $25 to even be rated. With craps, it's often difficult to know exactly how they rate players, since many places don't count the odds bets in their calculations.

$25/hand for four hours usually gets you something.
